Really nice looking place, but the "crispy duck with bamboo and mushrooms" dish we got definitely wasn't crispy and was borderline edible. We tried 3-4 slices (out of 20), and couldn't eat any more as it just tasted ... off. The waiter was very apologetic but said that he couldn't take it off the bill, but he could give us both free fried ice-cream (we only took 1). Considering that the duck was 17 EUR and ice cream is 3.5 EUR, I'd say we got the ugly end of the stick.
The main issue is - the kitchen never even tried the dish, they just said "OH, IT'S FINE, DEAL WITH IT", when it clearly wasn't. Total amateurizm.
Spring rolls and dim-sum were pretty damn good and I was really excited for the main dish after the appetizers! Alas! The Beef Gan Bian (which I ordered) was pretty OK, even though it wasn't crispy at all and there were no red peppers anywhere, only pale yellow ones. But I liked it enough to take home the leftovers. The duck, we just left 90% of it uneaten and told them to scrap it.
This place has a lot of potential, but they really do need to have a protocol established when the customer says that something is not right with the...
Read moreI have just had the worst experience ever in this place (a so called 'restaurant'). People that run / work in it do not have a slightest clue what hospitality industry is. After I had been coming to eat here regularly for months, today they were so rude to practically kick me off. I know this place very well. The waiters are uneducated, disinterested, untrained, slow, and hardly speak any language so they often misinterpret the orders. I used to go there with my dog. First they were pet friendly, then they decided not to allow dogs for a while, then during last year they went back to being pet friendly again. And today for no reason whatsoever they kicked me out. Great job, Asia. I could have complained about poor service in this place dozens of times before, but i decided not to. Now i feel like a fool. If i could, i would give them zero stars, but the app doesn't allow it. Anyhow, avoid this place...
Read moreFirst, I need to caveat that my verdict of the food quality is that it is bad, because of my ethnicity (Chinese) which means I hold very high standards for Chinese food. The spring rolls and sweet and sour fish are passable, but the gong bao chicken did not taste a single bit like gong bao chicken - where's the Szechuan mala spiciness and cashew nuts?? It is also quite sad that Croatia doesn't have fresh veggies like chye sim, kailan. Hence for the seasonal veggies all we got were bamboo shoots, capsicum and cucumbers (not quite compatible for Chinese stir-fry) . Stir-fry was not done in an authentic Chinese way either, taste was one-dimensional (very salty) and lacked depth.
On the flip side, service was decent and we appreciated that the staff kindly allowed us to sit in the warm restaurant whilst waiting for our uber, so we didn't need to be exposed to the...
