Nono Frane — Restaurant in Grad Cres

We would highly recommend to avoid this place! Apart from the fact that there is no drinks menu so that you don't know what to choose from for which price the food might not be bad.

However, be prepared for quite a special type of "service". After we had been there once or twice and thought the (unfriendly and apparently stressed out) waitress might just have had a bad day (or a couple) we went there in a late afternoon to have a cake and coffee. Although the whole restaurant (incl. the terrace) was empty we were denied the cake (and were basically kicked out) by an arrogant and rude waiter who seemed to be the owner of the entire universe. The official "reason" was that they would only serve coffee and desserts after a meal. Two days earlier this policy had apparently not been in place yet as we were served coffee and desserts without difficulties even in the evening when the restaurant was quite busy. We can only speculate whether the actual reason was rather our buggy and the (sleeping) baby in it but apparently this place has very special manners and ways they treat their (returning) guests.

BTW, we made exactly the opposite experience in the Nono Frane 2 (not sure it is the same owner) restaurant at the light house: Almost the same menu (drinks menu available), decent meals and extremely nice and...

Food wasn't hot, lack of flavor in all of the dishes that we ordered!!!

We had an excellent experience! The fish platter was absolutely fantastic – generous, fresh, and delicious, we enjoyed every bite.
