Osijek finally has a place where you can go and have delicious Asian-inspired food with a twist. Lulu is a small bistro in Sunčana street not too far from the city center. There aren't many signs pointing to it, and if you didn't know what you're looking for, you can easily miss it and walk right by it. Once inside, it takes a little while to pick up all the tiny decorating details, which is a good thing, you never want to get overloaded with all the stuff at once.
There is no other word to say except that the food is great. I haven't really had that much ramen in my life, but the tonkotsu is excellent. It's perfectly seasoned, the vegetables are fresh and the pork is perfectly cooked. It's full of flavor and character and really brightens up the palate. The same goes for the bibimbap. The meat is perfectly cooked and seasoned just right. It was a joy to eat such good food.
The diminutive size of the place is the source of its charm, but also its biggest downfalls. The atmosphere is just what you'd expect from a place like it is: a small hole-in-the-wall spot where you can find delicious food. The problem with the small size is that if there are other people there, conversation is nearly impossible as there is no soundproofing or any sound deadening, making the voices echo throughout the area, and it can get very loud at times. There also appears to be stuff available that isn't on the menu (desserts) and drinks list (there are wines, but I didn't get a wine chart). None of these detract from the experience and I will surely go back to Lulu to try the rest of the things...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at an Asian bistro that offered a variety of delectable dishes. I've had the pleasure of eating the Tonkotsu ramen. Overall the dish was amazing and you could taste all the different spices in the excellent broth accompanied by all the different toppings. The soft boiled eggs were great, although it was a shame that they were not marinated and the noodles were a little soggy. The star of the show was definitely the braised pork which melts in your mouth and words cannot describe how amazing it was.
When it comes to the ambience, the warm lighting, tasteful decor, and background music created a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. The stylishly decorated tables and cozy seating arrangements further added to the overall charm of the place. The attention to detail in crafting such an inviting space certainly enhanced my dining experience.
The service at this Asian bistro was truly exceptional. The staff was friendly, attentive, polite and welcoming. They promptly greeted me upon arrival and promptly seated me at a cozy booth. Throughout my meal, they frequently checked on me to ensure I had everything I needed. The attentiveness and professionalism of the staff greatly contributed to the positive dining experience.
Overall the experience was amazing with props to the amazing and...
Read moreIll start with the card, which i just got in croatian. The menu selection is small, which usually implicates to have therefore a higher quality, unfortunately the food was only in the mid section. I wouldnt mind that so much if the prices wouldnt be in the higher mid tier, but the price/quality wasnt there in my opinion.
I asked for sencha tea, in which i was replied with that no one drinks that in summer and they dont serve that in the moment. In summer its better to drink warm teas then cold softdrinks to cool off the body..
The ambiente was pretty decent but it looked like the restaurant wasn’t finished since some cables where reaching out of the wall (most like a lamp will be installed at that place).
In total it was okay, but the price wasnt for what i got in total. I ate better in different asian themed restaurants in germany for less money.
You can give this restaurant a try, but i will not go there again in...
