Trost is one of the few restaurants in Vrsar that offers not only good food but also the full dining experience with nice atmosphere and good service. We have not tried any wine so I can not comment about their wine list. But It definitely worths a visit for food even tough you will end up paying 1.5-2 times more than other restaurants around. We started with “Fish trio”, a cold plate with octopus, cod and 2 types of pate. Then we had the fish soup. It is a must try! Delicious! I can come again just for soup. I am not so sure if it is common in Croatia but it was with rice which I guess made it double tasty. Then we had “Fish Platter”. Have a look at the photos to see the full plate but there was a Dorade, Sea bass, Cod, Squid, Prawn, Fried sardines. The plate is for 2 and it is more than enough. Well, kids had “Spaghetti Bolognese” and “Wienner Schnitzel”. Both well presented and kids finished them in seconds so I guess they were OK. As desert we had Semifreddo, Tiramisu and ice cream for the kids. Semifreddo was as expected but Tiramisu was not sweet enough and actually it was very dry. The only thing disappointed me here was Tiramisu. One more thing; front seats with sea view are limited so you need to make a reservation 2-3 days...
Read moreI have been 2 times and in both occasions I had a tasteful dinner. The restaurant offers a nice view of the Marina Vrsar and you can also enjoy your meal in the outside terrace. In both occasions I tried fish plates, in particular the mussels, accompanied with their homemade bread, simply delicious. I then tried fish platter for two and the fish was well prepared and you could tasty all the freshness. Wine of the house was on point, served at the right temperature :) The desserts were delicious, highly recommended the lava cake. Finally the waiters are well prepared and certainly know how to do their job in the most efficient still in a friendly way. Prices are absolutely normal for the quality and portions you...
Read moreDelicious lunch with a beautiful view overlooking the marina. You can tell a restaurant will be good when they serve proper olive oil. The waiter was lovely. Our food arrived promptly. Portions were big, fresh and tasty. Grilled squid was great, as was the fired squid. Four cheese ravioli was yum! Roast potatoes and vegetables again were just perfect. Not sure about the greens with the squid, a bit damp and limp. Also I would only offer the local squid. Guests come wanting fresh and local produce even if it is a little bit more expensive. And the desserts let down the meal in my opinion. I would give 4.5 as a result but as I don’t have that option would rather give 5 than 4. We had a lovely...
