Chago Habana — Restaurant in Cuba

Considering the outrageous prices most businesses these days try to charge tourists in these understandable difficult times. The Chago Habana stands out for me as a last beacon of honesty and quality in the fast changing times of Havana. The cocktails are very very good made with generous amounts of booze, well crafted and tasty. Cocktails very good. Food at a great price, Havana Club 15 years for 600 CUP. Amazing Place off the beaten track. Can recommend the Tacos. Five Stars

Edit: Came back a year later. The prices have tripled while inflation has doubled, plus a 10% mandatory charge was added. They now have seperate Menus for locals and tourists. The food quality has gone down massively, everything tasted extremely salty and the Mojitos were overpriced and bad. Touristenfalle! Nachdem wir uns die Karte vor dem reingehen haben zeigen lassen und dann bestellt haben, wurde uns nach der Bestellung gesagt, dass wir 20% mehr für die gewählten Gerichte zu zahlen hätten. Auf das warum, kam nur ein Schulterzucken und "los precios suben". Nachdem ich dann meine Wahl änderte und dann nur ein Sandwich haben wollte, gab es nach kurzer Abstimmung mit dem Chef wohl leider kein Brot. Wir sind trotzdem geblieben, haben eben das verteuerte pollo gegessen (war auch gut) und durften dann neben der 20% Preiserhöhung noch 10% Servicegebühr (auf Rechnung aufgeführt) bezahlen.
