My experience at Melitzia Tavern was nothing short of fantastic. The moment I stepped in, I was greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The menu offered a wide array of delicious options, making it difficult to choose just one. My friends and I decided to go with the "meze" option, and we were blown away by the variety and quality of the dishes. The village salad was fresh and vibrant, the halloumi was perfectly grilled, and the village sausage had a delightful flavor. The souvlaki pork and chicken were tender and flavorful, while the "paidakia" (small lamb ribs) were simply mouthwatering. I also enjoyed the unique taste of the Cyprus traditional pork meatballs called "shieftalia." Each plate was a delightful surprise, and we couldn't help but keep trying more. The prices were very reasonable for the generous portions and excellent quality of the food. The staff was attentive and friendly, adding to the overall enjoyable dining experience. The management responded instantly to my reservation request. We asked to sit outside on the terrace with a nice view, and we were not disappointed, as we were able to watch the sun set over coral bay as we dined.

The service was very fast, friendly, and professional. The menu is Cypriot cuisine. We ordered a Meze for 4 which was as delicious as it was huge. We had a vegetarian among us who was amply catered for. Strongly recommend the Meze, but be sure to take a large appetite and pace yourself!

We asked for good local wine to accompany the meal and we took the white Xinisteri, which was extremely good, shades of an old-world Sauvignon, yet bursting with new-world like dimensions of sunshine, minerals, and roundness of flavour.

The bill was €76 in total (excluding our voluntary tip) for 4 Meze and two bottles of good wine, which we felt was excellent value, all things considered. I give four stars, but understand this is my top-top rating, nowhere gets five stars from me, that’s just how I rate.

Extremely good value for money with delicious meals. I tried the 'Meze special' a meal consisting of 25 different dishes to sample. I highly recommend this from the menu as for only 15 euros a head it is spectacular value. Each dish seemed meticulously prepared and was extremely tasty. You will need at least two people to sample this banquet but it is well worth it. One thing I will say is to those who want to try the meze is, don't fill up on earlier dishes such as the bread and salad as the best dishes come towards the end. All the staff were extremely friendly and organised the hospitality wsas great. Everybody recieves fruit and a slice of cake after the meal as a good gesture.
