We had the worst experience here. The prices are ridiculously high, then the food that came was shocking. We wanted çipura / sea bream butterfly cut, we got given fillet and when we asked about it they said they ran out of the butterfly cut. They could have let us know before, all four of us have worked in a restaurant before so we know the protocol.
Ignoring all this though, the portions of the fish were so small and like a quarter of one of the fish fillets was missing. One of us also got a lamb shish for 1100TL (£22) and it was so chewy and not seasoned well and the portion was tiny.
Not to mention the service was lacklustre. We got a small basket of bread, asked for more and never got it. AND PEOPLE WERE ALLOWED TO SMOKE IN THE RESTAURANT. JUST CAUSE THERE'S A WINDOW NEXT TO THEM, DOESN'T MAKE IT OKAY.
This cost us 3000tl (£59)... That's a meal for 3 people - one of us sent the fish back and didn't want anything else.
Genuinely so shocking. Restaurants in the North have dwindled in quality, unless you find a rare authentic family owned business. As a native to this country, a Turkish speaking Cypriot, it's absolutely heartbreaking to see.

Read moreThis is a hard review. Bellapias is certainly a place to be ripped OFF. Prices are very high wherever you eat. This review is on the 2nd of September 2025. Very busy for a Tuesday after climbing many steps from the pavement to the dining area the seating service was more than exceptional. Sadly many of the younger waiters speak no English and tend to wander around with the plated food looking for the customer that ordered it with a senior waiter. The quality of food is fairly good but lacking in presentation. Top prices are charged for everything on the Menu. One example was a standard bottle of Efes beer was priced at 230 TL now that is a little excessive when that very same day it only cost 47 TL in a local Supermarket now you are getting familar with the pricing. But you are paying the price for eating in Bellapais. I would highly recommend that you book your table before making the journey to this restaurant as seating with a decent view is limited. I would call it a special occasion venue unless you have your own money tree in the garden. Overall we had a pleasant meal...
Read moreOne of the worst dining experiences we’ve ever had. We were charged £80 for two platters after being assured that each platter would feed three people. When they arrived, the “platters” were laughably small — a spoonful of each meze and a single piece of meat per person. When we politely raised our concerns, the owner came over — not to apologise or offer a fair solution — but to mock our group. No effort was made to fix the situation, and the attitude was downright disrespectful. We left without eating, still having to pay the full £80. Poor value, poor service, and an appalling way to treat customers. Would never return and would not...
