For the past three years, Farm Yard has consistently featured in the top 50 of one prominent rating. Although tucked away in a rather remote corner—right next to Vasilikon—the restaurant operates exclusively in the evenings. Tonight, despite the winter chill, 70% of the tables had already been reserved, with the remaining spots snapped up by walk‐in guests by 6 pm. In short, it’s a very popular venue, so booking ahead is essential.
My expectations were modest, yet the dim sum completely exceeded them. Normally, I’m not particularly keen on dim sum, but here they are nothing short of an explosion of flavour paired with brilliant presentation. Each variety offers a distinct taste rather than the all-too-common scenario where the fillings differ only in theory, leaving you unable to recall which was which. The diversity is impressive, and my personal favourite was the wild mushroom with truffle.
The beef in black pepper sauce was superb, while the honey-glazed chicken came in at a modest 7 out of 10 (we tend to favour a slightly different style). I’m already looking forward to returning to sample the rest of the menu.
On a note for the management: the desserts could really do with a touch-up. The cheesecake and lava cake currently feel somewhat lacklustre—almost as if they’d been hastily assembled from a freezer selection at a chain chocolate shop, complete with a dollop of cream as an afterthought. A little extra attention to these final courses could transform them into a truly memorable end to an already exceptional meal.
P.S. During the day, from 12:30 to 14:30, they offer a hearty meat feast (in the style that British diners love). Do note that seating is available only on the day, and tables fill up quickly—so be sure to...
Read moreThe reviews and awards of this restaurant definitely built up a hype to visit it although our experience was lacking. The best part was definitely the dim sum which was, however, more so visually appealing rather than outstandingly flavourful. The rest of the menu resembles an above average generic asian restaurant like the many around the island. We got the honey ribs which were particularly tough and did not fall off the bone as ribs should, the honey chicken which, for what it is, was okay although seasoned exactly the same as the honey ribs making it redundant and the pad prik which, although in essence tasted thai, was not exactly right in flavour or texture. The worst part aer however was definitely the mango mochi desert which seems to have been in the freezer for far too long makimg the mochi dry and crumbly and therefore inedible unless you were to eat the mango sorbet inside on its own. The service is basic but polite and smiling so no fault there. The lack of air conditioning is also not ideal although it may be more bearable if you were to visit for dinner. All in all the food is good but not great and is worth a visit if you are in the area but not as a food...
Read moreThis review was written before my main course order arrived bc I was impressed from the first minute. Right from the entrance, you will feel the ambiance of the restaurant with fresh atmosphere, especially with the blue light from the walk-in entrance. (I don’t know for lunch, because I went there for dinner).
Simple definition of this restaurant is “Clean, Fresh and Super Taste nice”.
The last thing I will mention is the staff, I couldn’t get the name of the lady serving as she was super busy, your professional service didn’t went unnoticed. I felt something premium should be added to this restaurant name, bc it worth it in general.
My dear readers, JUST GO THERE, RELAX, ENJOY YOUR MEAL, AND BE HAPPY. But don’t go alone as you will need a companion/friends/family to share & show off your special...
