Why the long face? Let's be honest you know you're not going to get London Zoo animal welfare quality standards. It's neither a donkey sanctuary nor a farm. No donkeys are grown here or some may say "rescued and now living an idyllic life" 2 € per person to get in and 3€ for a bag of Carob pods you can pick up off the road before going. The donkeys looked pretty chilled out, when we went had suitable cover and water For a couple of €'s for the kids to feed them can't really grumble. Rabbit? And geese, well pretty sub standard conditions but considering the place is still going I assume nobody has reported them to the authorities. Not quite sure I would attempt to eat there however the old boy there knows a thing or 2 about honey. He was pleasant to us and is clearly making a few quid. In reality, if you are keeping the kids away from the beach and the sun for a day it's an okay 30 mins. However, if you are going to moan about it then head off to McDonald's or a local Taverna for a full-on mixed grill don't bother going.

Charming Visit to Trakkos Donkey Farm We stopped by Trakkos Donkey Farm and had a lovely visit. The owner was incredibly friendly and took the time to tell us all about the donkeys, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The views from up there are absolutely stunning – a beautiful spot to take in the scenery. The small café on-site is a nice touch, and impressively, the owner built it all himself. We had a refreshing orange juice and a beer, but we’re not sure if food is served as we didn’t ask. There were also ice lollies available, which was perfect for the warm day. The donkeys were sweet and friendly. While a few did look a bit skinny, we still really enjoyed meeting and feeding them. It’s a peaceful little place and a lovely stop if you’re exploring the area. Our son especially loved seeing the donkeys up close – a simple but memorable experience for him. Would definitely recommend if you're looking for a short, authentic stop with beautiful views and a warm welcome!

Well worth the trip. Entry €3 per person. My granddaughter (age 3) loved feeding all the donkeys and only €3 for a bag of food. She really enjoyed riding one of the donkey's. There was no real time limits set, the owner just set up the saddle, gave us the donkey reins and pointed the direction/course we should walk. Very relaxed and peaceful environment with stunning views. Plenty of drink choices to relax at the bar / restaurant area. We had to purchase some of the homemade Cherry liquor and homemade honey after taste testing. The Greek owner was warm, very friendly and welcoming. We all had a really fun time. Just to add, all animals on the farm looked healthy and well cared for!

Have we visited a different place to everyone else?

I have never felt the need to write a review for somewhere I have been before but after what I saw today I hope know one visits this place!

Absolutely appalling conditions for all of the animals to be kept in! I appreciate it had been raining but there was NO solid ground for the donkeys to walk in just pure mud and S**T. Some of the donkeys had markings and fur missing from there necks from ? Where they had been reaching for food from the hay pens! Their fur looked matted and one of them had a ‘coat’ made from what looked like a potato sack. The donkeys looked skinny and hD a pitiful amount to ground to roam just an uneven muddy track.

Why there were other animals there I don’t know. I could not bring myself to go and look at the rabbits so my partner did. There were about 4-5 rabbits in each tiny cage (not a nice wooden hutch) with wire mesh on the bottom so they had nothing solid to stand on. They were so small none could stand upright or barely move.

There was then a cage for chickens, turkeys and geese, all do which were walking in their own effluent with no room to fully stand upright.

Although there was ample food for the animals surely this cannot be it in life for...

We took our children to the winery and stopped by for a cup of coffee and juice. The largest regret is that we didn't read the comments before we went, and if we saw so many bad comments, we would definitely not go. What happened to us was even more unfortunate. Cyprus is a beautiful country, and the people here are very kind and polite, and they are well educated. But this old man has disgraced the country. It doesn't matter if the price is too high, I was originally out to play. We were thinking of going to his donkey farm after drinking a not-so-good coffee and juice and he became very rude and yelled at us that you need to pay first. We didn't go in, we just stepped out of the café and walked towards the donkey farm to take a look, which made us very angry. What follows is rude shouting like in the comments, and racial words are involved, and we fight back no hesitate, who gives you the confidence to treat customers who spend in your store like this? If you have to experience his unreasonable and high price, then I have nothing to say. This time I have experience, and before going to a place, must read his low star comments...
