Kaštan Restaurant — Restaurant in Prague

The food was ok, but the way too small portions and the high prices make this a subpar choice. I would have given them 3 stars, but the waiter made a pretty bad mistake: the customer who came before me had ordered the same meal (which i didn't know) and had already been waiting for a significant amount of time. The waiter then brought me my meal (or so I thought) and as I was about to dig in the other customer was like: "That's probably mine." I offered him the meal since I had only touched the plate so far. He refused - I am not sure if out of politenes or because of COVID. Then the poor guy then had to wait another about 20 minutes for his lunch menu while I was awkwardly eating "his" meal in front of him. Pretty unpleasant experience...

Achtung: 2 sehr unterschiedliche Erfahrungen...hier die 1.: Schon die Bedienung war äußerst nett und konnte sehr gut deutsch. Wir waren zu dritt und haben alle Entenkeule mit Rotkohl und Knödel. Es war mega lecker. Der Rotkohl hat richtig nach Apfel geschmeckt. Das Fleisch zart und schmeckte perfekt. Die Getränke kamen stets schnell. Obwohl wir echt satt waren, wollten wir noch Nachtisch versuchen. Die Empfehlung war Schokokuchen und Eis mit Kirschen. Auch der Nachtisch war mega gut. Sehr schön auf dem Teller angerichtet. Dazu war es unheimlich gemütlich. Wir werden in wenigen Wochen wieder nach Prag fahren. Selbstverständlich werden wir weitere Gerichte probieren. Außerdem war es relativ günstig. Für Top Essen, zahlreiche Getränke inklusive 15% Trinkgeld stand auf der Visa-Abrechnung für 3 Personen 66 Euro. // Hier die 2.: Nachdem ich zuvor 5 Sterne gegeben habe und ich wie angekündigt 2 Wochen später wieder dort war, hätte ich maximal 2 Sterne gegeben. Deshalb nun der Mix mit 3 Sternen. Wir haben alle wieder die Entenkeule mit Rotkohl bestellt. Die war mit Kümmel bedeckt und hat einfach schrecklich geschmeckt. Der Rotkohl war hart, so als wenn er aus dem Glas gekommen ist und mit Apfelmus zusammen erwärmt wurde. Wir hatten uns noch Gurkensalat bestellt. Der war viel zu warm und auch vom Geschmack her nicht doll. Ich hab mich noch an den Nachtisch gewagt. War allenfalls ok. Also 2 Besuche und total anders. Die Bedienung fragte nach ob alles ok war. Da ich immer ehrlich bin, hab ich gesagt, dass letzte mal war Top. Aber dieses Mal nicht so. Seine Antwort: Köche sind keine Maschinen und es kann zu Abweichungen kommen. - Dennoch erwarte ich schon annähernd gleiche Qualität. Also erneut werde ich dort...

Toto hodnocení by zde nebylo, kdyby se personál této restaurace nezachoval tak, jak se zachoval. Úvodem bych zdůraznila, že to nebylo poprvé, co jsem zde jedla, ale nikdy předtím nebyl problém, což je varování ostatním, jelikož kvalita podniku se pozná hlavně dle jejich reakce/řešení problémových situací. Jídlo bylo nepoživatelné kvůli jeho přesolení. To, že kuchaři se solí ujela ruka uznal i partner, který solí opravdu hodně. A ano, stane se a normální reakce obsluhy je odnést jídlo a omluvit se. Chodím po restauracích hodně a vracet jídlo mě opravdu netěší a dělám to opravdu výjimečně a v situacích, kdy je jídlo opravdu nepoživatelné. Bohužel reakce personálu byla nepochopitelná! Reklamaci odmítli s tím, že kuchař ani obsluha si to nemyslí (sakra, kde to jsme!?!?), takže toto jídlo jsme i přesto museli zaplatit. Toto je opravdu neakceptovatelný přístup. Všichni, komu jsem to řekla nad tímto kroutili hlavou a rozhodně bych toto od restaurace na podobné úrovni (zvláště pak i cenové) opravdu nečekala. Stane se, jsme jen lidi, ale takto doslova plivnout do tváře platícího zákazníka, který u nich už nechal spoustu peněz je výsměch, takže nedoporučuji a sama už zde...
