MATOKA, Smashed Burgers & American Fries — Restaurant in Prague

Had a burger from this place twice, both times tasted great. I see people complain here in reviews that the meat patty is thin and compare it to mc Donald’s, first of all this burger is incomparable to McDonald’s, secondly these people clearly don’t get that the whole concept of the smashed burger, this is literally how it’s called, that a meat patty is smashed on a grill. You can have single double or triple meat. I took double and it was more than enough! Great juicy delicious meat, great sauce, pickles, cheese, and normal burger bun the way it should be (not a ridiculously 15 cm tall bun like in other places) is just perfect, I will definitely come back for...

I ordered here burger with fries and Cola. First of all, I found this unpleasant big piece of the edge of cucumber. Please check what you put in the food. Secondly, the taste of meat was strange.

Also you always put can of cold Cola on the top of fries, which means that can of Cola is dirty and fries are cold after delivery.

No, kde začít. "Smash burger" se pokud jsem dobře obeznámen jmenuje smash proto, že se velmi tenké maso griluje při vysoké teplotě a v co nejtěsnějším kontaktu, kdy díky tomu vznikne specifická "krusta" s barvou a hlavně chutí. To jsem u mého smashe postrádal, spíše to připomínalo prostě jen menší plátky masa grilované standartním způsobem. A hlavně je kuchař zapomněl osolit a opepřit. Houska vypadala čerstvě, nikoliv rozmražená jak bývá u těchto levnějších podniků zvykem. Výsledný produkt to bohužel nezachránilo.

Cheesesteak.. well sorry ale když se něco jmenuje "Original Philly Cheesesteak" čekal bych, že to co dostanu opravdu bude originální klasika jako z Philadelphie. Tohle fakt nee.

Poutine. Asi nejlepší jídlo z těchto tří, každopádně chybělo gravy... A poutine bez gravy je asi jako svíčková bez omáčky. Takže to že nám to relativně chutnalo se nedá brát moc jako úspěch, neboť se jednalo o chuťově obyčejné hranolky, na které se naházelo trochu masa a sýra. Na tom nejde moc co pokazit.

Celkově bych to shrnul tak, že je tu snaha dělat americkou a kanadskou kuchyni, ale bohužel v českém provedení. Na zajedení po pár pivech jako alternativa kebabu asi přijatelné. Pokud si ale budu chtít opravdu pochutnat na cheesesteaku, zajdu v...
