Good day, I had a chance to visit the venue with 6-7 friends on Tuesday early evening (19:00). Low chance to get free table without previous reservation. The restaurant was full. Majority local clients. It is located out of centrum, and far from any public transport, so you need to take taxi. It was first visit of mine and I am sure not the last one. The restaurant is very good one. It offers Czech food of very high quality. You can choose in majority meet, but as well at least 1 fish dish and one "veggie". Ingredients and test of the dishes of good quality. I had as starter some cold cuts go ham and as main dish I had schnitzel (but it is a Czech version, that I honestly prefer that Austrian one). My friends had in majority duck, that was complemented a lot. As desert we choose "buchty", that was served with rum (alkohol) and ice creams- absolutely marvelous. A wide choice of Czech wine and obviously Pilsner. I would recommend this restaurant for family dinner as well as for meeting with friends. The atmosphere is very relaxing and I guess for some people it could be a bit too loud, especially if you seat next to tabel occupied by 6-8 Czech guys :). It is definitely worth of taking the trip outside City center. So, if you are limited in time with your trip in Prague, but you want to test Czech food, I recommend do not take "touristic" place in center but take taxi and after 20 min drive you are at very nice hill with a restaurant located in garden and in summer with very nice "outside" venue. Strongly...
Read moreExtremely disappointing service, I took my parents here for their 30th anniversary, having made the reservation a week in advance mentioning the occasion I had hoped the restaurant would take it seriously, unfortunately that was not the case at all. We entered and were sent upstairs, after being allocated our place it took at least 10 minutes before the waiter decided to ask us whether we would like something to eat/drink, in this time I actually had to get up walk up to him and ask for a wine menu because he didn't offer it to us immediately. (He was too busy chatting with his colleague) After ordering our appetizers we managed to finish them and were sitting around for additional 10 minutes before he decided to approach us and ask for the main dishes, once again unacceptable lack of attention and just I don't care attitude. The highlight in term of food were the kapri hranolky(carp chips) and terina z kralicich stehen(rabbit terrine) the rest was nothing out of the extraordinary (boar fillet, marinated beef, duck breast, rabbit leg).
In short this restaurant did not live up to it's name and I do not recommend it for important occasions, perhaps for a quick dinner (overpriced for...
Read moreWOW in each bite! Finding U Matěje just 2 hours before we reach to our hotel. We drove with car do it is quite convenient to reach there, only 10 Minute drive from our hotel. The have fixed simple (but delicious) menu and will offer some special dishes randomly per day. We have luck to try 2 special appetizers: pulled duck breast with fat chop, onion chutney & tasty pickle radishes; Tomato soup with elegant touch of celery & feta cheese. The main dishes also amazingly tasty & balance. I love the way how Chef play with flavors, it reminds me our my Asian root in different. Totally worth the way & very nice surprise for 1st day in Prague. Strongly recommend to any Foodie out there. I will definitely come back soon, may ne stay for few day near by so I can try their whole menu step by step 😁😂😅 P/S: my pictures (the not so nice ones) are not justified the food so I upload nice ones got from U...
