Restaurant Thors Mølle — Restaurant in Aarhus Municipality

We celebrated our multicultural, multilingual wedding at Thors Mølle yesterday. 40 guests from Denmark, Canada, the Philippines, and the USA. EVERYTHING was absolute perfection.

Booking and coordinating was a breeze. Thors Mølle was flexible and always had great ideas and solutions if we were I doubt.

On the day of our celebration the weather was windy with showers, so we moved the ceremony indoors last minute, and Thors Mølle made that happen without a hitch. The table setup and preparation was exactly how we envisioned it from Canada while planning it.

The food - OHHH the FOOD!!! I’m not a food critic or chef, but this place deserves a reward. The food was PHENOMENAL!!! Everything was made to perfection. Every single guest came to us during and after the party to rave about how amazing the food was. Traditional Danish dishes made world class. This was food beyond our wildest imagination and presented as if every plate was a colourful piece of art.

Should you ever want to experience Danish hospitality, this place is where to go. Smiles, timely perfection, fast when needed, slower pace when requested, and constantly checking in with us throughout the party to ensure everything was exactly how we wanted it.

Oh - I almost forgot to talk about the location and restaurant itself. Quant. Light. Idyllic. Merger of old traditional and functional modern. The forest felt as if it was brought inside through all the windows and skylights.

In closing, we WILL be back next time we visit Denmark. Maybe just for lunch. Maybe for dinner with friends. Hopefully for another celebration if invited by friends or family. But we guarantee that we...

We were lucky, the restaurant was fully booked but had a cancellation just as we arrived. I was pleasantly surprised when this traditional Danish restaurant had gluten-free bread and nice it was too. In fact, although they recommend two pieces of smørebrød per person, with the extra bread, there was plenty with one to fill a hungry belly. And it was delicious! The service was friendly without being intrusive. One way of grading a restaurant is whether the toilets are clean. They were very clean and fresh. Absolutely amazing food, I got a shooting star (Stjerneskud) and the salmon that came along was to die for. Also there was actually enough bread for the whole sandwich unlike many other places where you have to dig for it. Simple good, everything necessary for the meal was there and nothing extra that doesn't usually go with it. And very reasonable prices, especially for the quality of the atmosphere and food.
