La Buca Degli Artisti — Restaurant in Copenhagen Municipality

I have been here many times before and always given great feedback, but yesterday was different. Arrived at 6.30pm and the restaurant was already almost full. It was certainly too busy for the service to be timely - we had to wait 20 minutes from sitting down to being able to place our order.

Normally the food is great but yesterday the olives was basically just the pip itself, the T-bone felt old and chewy, the linguine with crab had no flavour and very little crab (something our neighbouring table complained about). We also had to wait a long time for food to arrive.

Could have been a bad day but...

Fantastic glutenfree service. I am celiak so I really need to watch out. Called the place in advance and they prepared special food for me. Waiter was very understanding, not only i got food that was very closely resembling the menu chosen by others, I got my own starter bread, my own olive oil for dipping. Every dish was served for me first and introduced which really helped ensure food is GF. So they really understand the need and take you seriously. La Buca is a must-try! Their linguine alle vongole and agnolotti di salsiccia were absolutely divine – you could taste the high-quality ingredients and passion in every bite. The attentive service and warm, family-run atmosphere (almost four decades in business!) made for a truly special dining experience....
