Ard Bakery — Restaurant in Frederiksberg Municipality

ARD bakery is a hidden treasure in the outskirts of Copenhagen. After a run at the beautiful nearby Damhusengen lake, I happened to walk by and decided to stop for a post-run cappuccino and pastry. I asked the cashier for a recommendation, and she told me the Tebirkes is the most traditional, but the bakery is mostly known for its cinnamon rolls. I tried the latter, and it indeed might have been the best one I'd ever had. It was so good that I decided to go back to the cash desk and order a sourdough bread for lunch. ARD Bakery is a hidden find in Copenhagen that’s absolutely worth the detour. Their sourdough is world-class, especially when it’s fresh out of the oven in the morning—an absolute treat! The pastries are outstanding, and you can’t miss the cinnamon roll. Make sure to try it while it's hot—wow! The staff are incredibly friendly, adding to the overall warm and inviting atmosphere. Let me first admit - I’ve only been once and I forgot to take pictures. The baked goods here are great from what I’ve tried. Flavour bombs for sure! But with the inflation on the Copenhagen bakery market these past 3-5 years and prices overall soaring, I think they might have squeezed the lemon a bit too much.
