Café Lindevang — Restaurant in Frederiksberg Municipality

Curious about the traditional Danish cuisine, we went to Café Lindevang; a cosy, rather small establishment where we were the only tourists among a local Danish crowd. I took the traditional roast beef with caramelized onions, beans, two kinds of potatoes, red beetroot and pickled cucumber. It was served with delicious gravy and some sweet jam (still don't know which of the sides I had to use this for). The taste of the food was fantastic, and all sides complemented each other very well. The meat was deliciously marinated, perfectly cooked and came in a very generous portion. Really good - all trad Danish food, cooked properly and without regard for calorific content 👍 as far as I can see there are no vegetarian or vegan options (or even possible manipulations to achieve them) on the menu. It's pretty popular, so you're well advised to book ahead, you may well be disappointed if you just turn up and hope. The lunch menu differs to the evening menu (check menus on their web page) so you will not get possibly the best Weinerschnitzel in CPH for lunch, only for dinner. THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!!! THE WORST SERVICE EVER!!!!!!!

I was so excited to come and try the food because I read all the positive reviews but... it was the worst experience in my trip in Denmark... an old man (he looked like the owner or manager told my in a very bad way that I couldn't take any table because I needed a reservation, I understood that and then I took a table outside... he gave the menu and then I realized that the menu in English didn't mention the prices, then... when he came back and I asked for the prices he shouted at me that he cannot translate for me all the menu and asked my to abandon the place!!!!!!!
