I had a bad experience and wasn't interested in writing a review, until a friend of mine told me another guy wrote a bad review of the same restaurant that I had complained to my friend about.
I went to Apero in June, based on some other reviews and their description of the french Bistro feeling. I've had my share of bistro visits in France, mainly Paris and Lyon, but also some in lesser populated areas, and love a good bistro.
Unfortunately, Apero is not in the same league as many French bistros, except for the name. The plates are small, but then again they are cheap, so it's not a big problem. The problem arises if you want more plates, as the selection is very limited. But again, that wasn't the worst thing.
The presentation on the dish was sloppy. Although a bistro is a lesser formal dining style than many classic French restaurants, I love a plate looking good and delicate, as an invitation to good tastes. In Apero the plates look like something you mixed together to serve to your dog, very undelicious and as the chef had a very bad day or a terrible hang-over.
I wasn't satisfied with this, and after finish the first dogfood-like plate, I told the waiter when I received a similar one for the next dish. He then started to make fun of me for complaining, as if I was the problem and not the dishes. I've never experienced something like this, so rude and arrogant. He even told a waitress about me and they both were laughing and shaking their heads.
My wife and I was shocked, and left the restaurant soon after, thinking that maybe the staff was high on something or juiced of too much wine or champagne, or whatever. We decided it was just to forget the whole experience, and we did. But then I saw another one having the same experience, with such a poor service when you complain, and I realized I had to tell my story too.
Apero is a shame to all the good restaurants out there also identifying as bistros, but who are able to serve delicious presented food, and focusing on creating a welcoming atmosphere where the customer satisfaction seems to be their...
Read moreIf you are looking for a french inspired café in Skagen this is it.
Serving delicious french meals and wine, champagne, beers, it is the perfect place for a great lunch, dinner or a cold glass of champagne. You can also buy a cheap delicious breakfast if you are an earlybird.
They also make excellent coffee and you can buy macarons, croissants (best in town) and the real Gateau Marcel cake among other things.
Service is really great and friendly. We ordered snacks, croque monsieur and chevre grillé, all tasting delicious.
The food made here is made with love , the best ingredients and a really good sense of combining the different flavours.
Prices are really fair, especially when considering the very high quality of things served here.
The atmosphere is excellent, almost as the best cafés in Paris. That is why I love this place and can very highly...
Read moreMust be the most overhyped restaurant I’ve been to. Ordered a sharing plate, but it was hardly enough food for one person. Then the starters came and the salad lacked the vinaigrette it was supposed to be served with, but the mussels were okay. Then the fish dish came. It was maybe 25 grams of fish, 200 grams of sauce and the same amount of mashed potatoes. Calling this a fish dish is a totally lack of knowledge about food. When we complained, the waiters got rude and created a very unpleasant situation. I don’t know what is wrong with the attitude of those people, but I recommend you to find another restaurant. This one is definitely not worthy of your...
