Charlottenlund Fort er en af de restauranter hvor tallerknerne er større end portionerne. Overraskende store, alligevel gik vi ikke hungrende hjem efter en fire retters menu der startede med en velsmagende gulerodssuppe serveret i bunden af en arkitekttegnet tallerken. Suppen bestod angiveligt af brændt gulerod, peberrod og karse. Særlig brændt var den nu ikke, godt det samme, men måske lidt inddampet og koncentreret. De mere end rygende varme portionerne, blev skænket af en dygtig ung tjener, der heldigvis ikke rystede det mindste på hånden. Heller ikke da hun skænkede hvidvinen, der var kølig og velsmagende. Under hele måltidet var der mulighed for at supplere de afmålte portioner med velsmagende brød og hjemmepisket smør der havde en særegne let konsistens og en præcist afmålt salthed der begejstrede mit selskab - hvis man altså skal dømme udfra interessen for lige at tage sig en ”hapser” imellem retterne.

Næste ret var dampet torsk med rogn, strimlet rødbede, løg, røg? og brunet smør. Torsken var formet som torneduer og dampet tilpas uden at være skoldet. Rognen føltes dog mere som blendet mousse end som egentlig rogn der jo har en særegne rustik tekstur. Som ikkeryger er jeg ikke så glad for røg, men også her forstod Charlottenlund Fort at afstemme elementerne og jeg undlod derfor ikke at vride lidt af det lækre brød i resterne af sovsen.

Hovedretten var unghane, sprødt lår, hvidkål, persillerod & tranebær. Atter blev der serveret på tallerkner der var rigeligt store. Lidt salt og peber gjorde underværker, men også her må der vises respekt for kokken der er voksen nok til at tage ansvar for gæsternes blodtryk og ikke benytter det alt for billige tricks at fylde maden med salt for at få gæsterne til at drikke unødigt.

Jeg er slet ikke vinekspert, og har en stærkt svigtende hukommelse for vinetiketter, men rødvinen var dejlig og velafstemt uden mislyde og lever helt op til det høje ambitionsniveau man har sat sig på restaurant Charlottenlund Fort, der ligger vindunderligt på toppen af det gamle fort med en betagende 180 graders udsigt over sundet og den stor himmel der netop denne aften var klar, blikstille og rosafarvet med udsigt helt over til broderlandet der utvivlsomt misunder os sådanne gastronomiske oplevelser.

Men vi må ikke glemme den valgte ostedesserten: Blå kornblomst, choko- & olivenkage. Hele selskabet var enige om at desserten måske var lidt særpræget. Blåskimmelost, honning og ret salte nødder, men også med stumper af chokokage. Blåskimmelost og honning går som bekendt godt sammen, men jeg er ikke helt sikker på at chokolade og blåskimmelost lige er mig. Omvendt var desserten lidt af en øjenåbner for en eksperimenterende hjemmegastronom.

Vi sluttede måltidet med kaffe, jeg fik stempelkaffe med mælk og den var rigtig god og rigelig. Kaffen altså!

Da flere i selskabet førte motorkøretøj, og vi derfor måtte holde lidt igen med vinen, supplerede vi med en engelsk Hildon mineralvand, men og uden brus serveret i smukke designerflasker da selskabet havde forskellige præferencer med hensyn til kulsyre. Selv er jeg til vand med bobler, hvis mængde dog undertiden kan tage overhånd og give en ubehagelig oppustet fornemmelse, men sådan er det ikke med Hildon hvis lave indhold af kulsyre er bedre foreneligt med delikat mad og fine vine.

Not very impressed by the food we got. We tried a 4 course tasting menu, and we saw all 5 courses (some chose cheese, some the dessert). We realised that we got was not what we expected based on the menu description. The dish with mussels, for ex., is served with a mushroom soup, so forget about the mussels taste. Ravioli, described as filled pasta (and as it should be) was just a disk of pasta placed on top of what supposed to be the filling. Moreover ravioli is a plural, so they should either serve minimum 2 or write raviolo :-). The potatoes included in the main course were just few pieces of potato chips cut as julienne ( 1 potato for 8 guests maybe 😁). The almond crumble was in reality an orange sorbet with some crumble, no trace of ginger, and no yogurt ice-cream. The cheese flan was far away from a flan, it was melted cheese. I give 3 because despite the totally misleading description, the dished tasted quite nice, except for very very dry meat, and very salty fish. The wine menu was good except for the wine served with the sorbet.....really bad wine to end the dinner. Be ready to be sit for 3 hours for a 4...

Well dressed Latin American and Asian guys working in private equity in Hellerup decided to have a drinks here on lazy Sunday morning on April 21. Waitresses (which happened to be all blonde) ignored us for 30 minutes. We assumed that they are just busy, but as soon came a bunch of white customers on a table next to us, they were immediately approached and asked for their orders. So we decided to stand up and ask the waitress why they ignored us and she unabashedly retorted: why did you actually want anything. To which we replied: why do you think we like to seat here for nothing? Amazed with the shameless racism from someone who waits for a living. I mean the food or drinks won’t get them listed on Gault en Milieu, not even Bib Gourmand from Michelin — it’s essentially the equivalent of a run-of-the-mill diner in an area with no competition and full of...

Incredible food and perfect service. Had the tasting menu with wine option and the food was presented both originally and professionally, the wine was paired both surprisingly but well. Wouldn't recommend the cheese course but dessert to die for. Service casual enough to be unobtrusive but elegant enough for the experience. Will return.

We were not happy with the food that we got. The salt baked celery served with the fish was not salty at all compared to the fish. The dessert - white chocolate mousse was served with fennel, it was super disturbing the taste. The wine was tasty, the other 2 dishes we good. But after we went home, we got the food poisoning :(

We were not happy with the food that we got. The salt baked celery served with the fish was not salty at all compared to the fish. The dessert - white chocolate mousse was served with fennel, it was super disturbing the taste. The wine was tasty, the other 2 dishes we good. But after we went home, we got the food poisoning :(
