Nua Mama's Secret — Restaurant in Roskilde Municipality

I found the place here in the maps. We were there for dinner around 4 pm. Yes, I know, but hunger is hunger and food is food. I read some recommendations in advance and there were many like "small portions", "not good", "expensive for the small portions" and so on. We worked around the problem of having to make reservations very cleverly with the time of day. Parking is available in a large lot very close by (200m) or if you're lucky on the side of the road. The service was very friendly, we were handed a tablet with an English menu (the English version of the website). We were the only ones in the place (not for long though!), so everything went pretty quickly. We got our food after about 10 minutes. It was just mega delicious! There is nothing to complain about the taste for me. If I had the restaurant within reach at home, they would have delivered it too. Personally: Food is generally good. The pork Skewers are the best. Spring roll is standard with glass noodles inside. Red curry tofu is great Pad see ew beef was also good Pad ka Paw chicken is a bit of a down side because it looked like a stir fried and saucy with a lot of onion and bell pepper - i was looking forward for it to either be minced pork with egg and plenty of thai basil - no onion strings nor bell pepper. Dessert: banana spring roll with coconut icecream which is overall good (altho the banana tasted over ripe.

The service is impeccable, polite staff and chef.

Atmosphere is good with some thai decor, but can be noisy when full

Price: seems reasonable, a main course includes rice already, so one can eat a decent meal from below 200kr

Excellent food, prepared with passion & care. All the dishes we had were delicious - the Moo Ping (pork skewers) were tender and juicy; the Tom Yum with wontons had real depth and flavour; the Gaeng Phed (red curry) with tofu left you wanting more.
