Friendly employees but the experience foodwise is very very disappointing!
On one hand the food is very oily, lot of readymade/storebought ingredients, pale and quiet artificial in taste.
On the other hand: They write one on the menu card on webside and deliver something else. spiced cheese naan: is supposed to be with "hytteost" and spices. But the naan bread was filled with "grated pizza topping cheese without any spices"
Vegetar Børne ret says "hytteost nuggets, and hytteost tandoori". The hytteost is nothing but the chilli cheese we can buy at Burger Kind. And the "hytteost" was missing completly in the hytteost tandoori. We received just tomato sauce spiced with storebought masala.
chilli chicken: it was a running, watery soup, without any indian flavour. Chicken was juicy though.
Apart from that the packaging for børneret is quite of cheap material as the plastic started to shrink due to the heat of the food.
Last but not least the mixed vegetable grill platter consisted of half part big onions, a quarter part green bell pepper, and then remainimg quarter was 3 piece cauliflower, 3 potato wedges, 5 paneer strips. It was a very expensive grilled onion i ever had 🙄
The wholewheat lachcha paratha was actually tasty, but too oily though.
In total the food is not authentic and overpriced, and webside misleading: You would think that there is a 10% discount for "take away". No, there is that discount only if you order ONLINE. If you call them and order take away then there is no discount. But the friendly employee on the phone made me aware of it, for which i am thankful.
This is also the first indian restaurant i that came across, which serves main dish without sidedishes. Even the "basic" rice had to be bought seperatly.
I might reorder at Royal Indian if I crave for Indian Junkfood (instead of McDo. or Burger King). But if i want authentic Indian food, there several other restaurants that serves indian food with homemade spices, homemade paneer and other authentic...

We had a good experience at their Valby branch, so we decided to try the Roskilde location — unfortunately, it was a completely different (and unpleasant) experience.
We ordered the Daal Makhni and Butter Chicken. The daal was watery and lacked flavor, and the chicken in the butter chicken had a strange, almost rotten smell. When we brought it up to the waitress, she dismissed our concern. Only at the end of the meal did another staff member say we should’ve told them earlier — which we had.
They deducted the daal from the bill, but overall the staff was not considerate and came across as rude. Really disappointed with the service and food quality. They seriously need to pay more attention to what they’re...
