Iberostar Bávaro Golf Club — Restaurant in Higüey

We were a group of four golfers staying at Bahia Principe. Our resort set up our tee time and golf course agreements, which included transportation to and from, green fees for 9 holes, and golf club rentals, all for $105.00 US each. Upon arrival, Stephanie who was working in the pro shop, demanded we pay an additional $50 each for golf club rentals, we explained and showed her the agreement we had from our resort, saying everything was included, she didn't care, she wouldn't even call our resort to assist. We then requested transportation back to our resort, where she demanded we each pay her $10.00 cash for return to our resort. So as a group of four, we had to pay $40.00 US for a 5 minute cab ride back to our resort.

Also a father and his two sons who we met in the clubhouse pro shop. Paid $760.00 US for 18 holes. Later that evening we met the father back at our resort, who shared with us that, upon finishing the 10th hole, they were forced to the 17th hole, missing to play the 11th to the 16th holes. Very good golf experience. Played 18 today and had a really nice time. Awesome driver picked us up from our resort and took us back after. The course was fun and challenging. If you keep the ball straight you can definitely have some birdie looks. Fairways are pretty wide so keeps ya from losing too many balls. Walking in and you can tell the course is well kept. The ladies in the club house were super friendly and helpful. A+ in my book. A little confusion with the starter but we got through it. Given the rates, golf conditions, and service, Iberostar Bavero Golf Club offers an average golf experience compared to US golf course experiences. I can't compare to other DR courses. I did have higher expectations for the course being at a resort. The course was in good condition, though the 8th hole is the only scenic hole to remember. The service was less than spectacular, for I prepaid for the golf package, but only to find out that the golf club had no record of the prepayment and my tee times were canceled, so I only played one round, and the issue was resolved, so net loss for them.
