El Cayuco de la Bonita — Restaurant in Las Terrenas

Very nice location with a wonderful view of the beach. The food was ok nothing spectacular. I had the Chicken Cordon bleu and my wife had the Chicken and mushrooms both with mashed potatoes. Cordon bleu was ok just a chicken breast breaded and cut in half and fried with two slices of ham and cheese in middle. Unfortunately the ingredients they chose had no flavor. The mushroom chicken with sauce was much better. The hostess was super friendly and helpful wish we could have had her for our waitress. Service was not very good she seemed like she was having a bad day. We asked for another drink which never came and had to go up to the bar to get our check. We could not get the waitresses attention at all. The bar area was very disorganized many customers were heading to the bar to pay. They also seemed frustrated with that. Seems as if they had the same service from the same waitress. Other tables with other servers were not having an issue. Today I went with my family for the first time. The waiters were very polite and helpful. The food was delicious.When I asked for my bill ,the person that brought it to my table was a woman that was the cashier attending the bar area. I noticed she charged me for three Coca Colas instead of two. When I went to the bar to tell her that it was a mistake she answered in a very unprofessional way. She said she was not going to argue with me because too many things had happened today. I told her to verify with the waiters how many bottles of soda they had brought to my table and how many empty bottles they took away. She completely ignored me and went ahead and charged my card with that extra bottle included. I said hadn’t asked for three sodas,she was even more angry and had to give me back the money for that extra soda. Had she not had her attitude I could’ve left extra tip but they didn’t deserve it.
