I recently had the pleasure of attending a catered event at El Carey and I can confidently say that it was a truly exceptional experience. The fact that they were able to pull off a catered event for 100 people with less than 24 hours notice speaks volumes about the restaurant's dedication and professionalism.

When the place first opened about 8 months ago, it was a dream. Excellent service, food was literally amazing and the prices justified the flavors and treatment and environment was spectacular. Unfortunately just went today and my parents went yesterday and everything has changed. Service is horrible they literally never check on you and when you ask for asistance they tell you to wait. Prices are higo and the quality of the food is very low. Only good thing on the menu are the yuca fries and French fries. We ordered a appetizer platter and we got different items than what the menu specified. My brother and I have a tremendous stomachs ache from some fish croquetes they had on the platter. Place by the beach in Puerto Plata, Really in the beach, place is nice and stylish, however in the outside a few tables need a little paint which makes it no instagram friendly, service is slow, it took 45 minutes for my meal to arrive, drinks came much faster, aperols were good.

Fish Chillo in garlic was tasteless, and overpriced, they charged me for a 1.5 pounds when it was clearly at most 380grams, do not go for fish while in here.

Grilled Octopus was amazing. On point and fresh. Will try my luck in this place again.. Expect alot of locals in the beach...
