Based on reviews and recommendations, I visited the restaurant twice while I was staying in the area. The ambiance/entertainment was very nice in an outdoor setting. The drinks are pretty good, specifically, the cava sangria. However, I found the food to be just average and tagged with higher end prices. Unfortunately, both times I dined at this restaurant I also became sick shortly after. The first time I became sick I figured this have been a coincidence and decided to give another try (everyone has an off day). However, the second time dining at the restaurant (I ordered something different that the first time) I became extremely sick to my stomach; needless to mention I will never dine here again. I give this place two stars simply because of an incident I witnessed while dining. It appears management style is to treat and speak to their employees in a very condescending and unprofessional manner. Specifically, bar supervisor was witnessed to bark orders and make demands at an employee to give her drinking water. Why she was not able to get her own water beats me. To make matters worse, the restaurant wasn't even that busy at the time. This supervisor's unprofessional behavior was so obvious, customer that was right by the supervisor immediately turned toward the supervisor with a look of disbelief. When the supervisor realized what had occurred, she immediately adjusted her tone and added a "por favor" to her order. The tone and demeanor in which this supervisor made her demand left the impression that if she would have the audacity to talk down to an employee in such a condescending manner in front of a customer, how are employees actually treated when no customers are around. Restaurant industry is cut throat and fast paced. However, employees should be treated and spoken to as people and not condescendingly; especially when the demand was for herself and not a customer.
UPDATE - 10/12/2021: To update my review, I did receive a call from the wife of the business owner stating they were conducting an investigation into the concerns raised and to discuss my experience, however, during the call, it became evident that the business owner was more interested in trying to discredit my review and reveal my identity. In fact, although I am in a relationship with one of their former staff members, I attempted to explain that my visit to the establishment was as a paying customer. I did not receive any discounts or freebies. My review was to raise concerns about my observation of the treatment from a female supervisor toward a male employee, whom I do not personally know nor do I have any relationship to. In addition, were my concerns that I personally experienced with my own health in which I became sick after visiting and dining at the establishment on two separate occasions. Specifically, I overheard the female supervisor demand that the male staff member "fetch her water" for herself and not for a paying customer. During the call the business owner criticized and condemned their own male staff members by stating, "as a woman supervisor, the woman supervisor has to assert herself toward male staff members who need repeated directions." Furthermore, when I returned to the states, I had to seek medical attention and was prescribed antibiotics. During the conversation, I was wrongfully accused of launching a bogus complaint, threatened by the owner's son to take down my review, and subjected to false accusations against my character. It appears the investigation conducted by the owners of the restaurant was focused on revealing my identity rather than actually addressing unprofessional behaviors in front of paying customers. Needless to say, this "family established restaurant" leaves the impression they support, encourage, and manage by bullying and oppression starting from the owners on down to...
Read moreThis place seems nice but unfortunately there were a lot of issues that shouldn't occur due to the high prices of the restaurant itself. For starters, the location only offers outside seating right on a high way road so the noise and the amount of heat become unpleasant. Uncomfortable amount of flies at the time of our food which really was a turn off for our appetite. The best option is the skirt steak that was really tasty and juicy. I myself ordered the filet mignon in a mushroom sauce and it sounded better on the menu. It was lacking flavor and was quite hard and dry in texture. The yuca fries were really hard, dry and just bad. The menu has rice and beans for sides but they ran out of beans and avocado which are a big turn off especially being in the Dominican Republic where a corner store for a dollar has rice and beans available especially avocado like come on. The appetizers are very minimal and not worth the hype. would only come back for the...
Read moreI visited this establishment that was quite appeasing to the eye, the waitress was friendly but did not bring us our order as we ordered. It wasn't sent back because apparently she would have had to pay for it. The food I ordered which was the chicken Cordon and Mac n cheese sure came out fine. I would say the chicken was a little try but the sauce made up for it along with the presentation. When the first is brought to the table, I believe the chef himself serves it which is a great touch but he could speak which would provide a little more customer attention. Besides that, the place has an excellent video and atmosphere. The only issue experienced with that was a guy on the street pandering if you're sitting right next to the street. That was unpleasant and the staff of the restaurant did not control that portion of the atmosphere, which in my opinion...
