Brisal Restaurant — Restaurant in Santo Domingo

We just had dinner at this place for 2 of our family members birthday. The service while polite and friendly, was terrible in what matters the most. We ordered 5 drinks from the happy hour menú (2x1 type) but were charged individually 4 of them - when we asked for this to be fixed, instead of amending the mistake, the guy was justifying that he noted them individually (so what?). This is the type of thing that ruins people’s experience and makes you simply not recommend the place to anybody. The burger was good, the trufle pasta was too heavy, german pizza had waaay too much chipotle sauce to the point you couldn’t feel the flavour of the other fine ingredients. Overall it could have been better, but really the issue with the drinks is what got me thinking -why couldn’t them...

The place looks great and clean with inside and outside seating. The menu has a good variety of choices, as my opinions of them, the presentation overall was nice: The tagliatelle was as expected, the Chillo was ok but greasy, the Nachisimo (entrée) was delightful beyond expectations and plenty to share, but the basic mozzarella stick was disgusting because they were soggy and greasy and under fried. The sushi was good but then the sauces opaqued the seafood flavors. And the focaccia was ok but the cheeses dip was flavorful. Beyond that the beers were cold, and the red sangria was delicious. I would go back only for the Nachisimo entrée and...

The place is good, meet most standards but could make some improvement. The appetizer was really good (Birria Tacos) and tasty but was a bit soggy (it's just a preference). The hamburger (Square Cheese Burger) had a good taste, can lose its shape easily while eating so watch out. The sushi (Philadelphia Roll) could be improved, first, it was not balanced, the salmon was overwhelmed by all the other ingredients, and the sauces just make this caveat more present. The pizza (Prosciutto and Rúcula) was good, specially the crust, the toppings were all in the center of the pizza, a better distribution would make a difference. The Margaritas (Passion fruit and lemon) were really good. Overall the place is good, clean and well lit but lacks character, could improve with a more vivid atmosphere.

El lugar es bueno, cumple todos los estandares, pero podría hacer algunas mejoras. La entrada estaba bueno (Tacos de Birria) y de buen sabor pero estaba un poco blando el taco (es preferencia). El hamburger (Square Cheese Burger) tenía buen sabor, puede desarmarse con facilidad mientras se come, cuidado con esto. El sushi (Philadelphia Roll) podría mejorarse, primero, no estaba balanceado, el sabor del salmón fue abrumado por los demás ingredientes y las demás salsas hicieron este detalle estar más presente. La pizza (Prosciutto y Rúcula) estaba buena, en especial la masa, los ingredientes estaban en el medio de la pizza, una mejor distribución haría una diferencia.
