Embarcadero 41 — Restaurant in Samborondón

On Valentines eve we would like to enjoy a special dinner at nice restaurant here in Guayaquil! On TripAdvisor we found the Embarcadero 41 with great reviews so we thought this will fulfill our expectations! We made a reservation and get a nice table outside. We ordered a bottle of wine, starter and main and would like to enjoy our evening! Then our waiter told us the wine which we had selected was finished! He offered us one for the double price, which one we rejected. We asked for a fullbodied, oaked chardonnay. Yes, he will bring one, he said... It was the complete opposite type of wine we want! No wine knowledge! We ordered beer...much easier to serve!

For our nice starters, Ceviche, my wife ordered bread or Baguette by headwaiter Pablo. He replied like a macho entertainer „why you’re need bread“? Ridiculous!!

Main course was on the way, but the wrong one for me! Waiter: sorry, three minutes and left the food for my wife at the table! We would like to enjoy dinner together not separate!!! After ten minutes and no main course for me I called the manager and described my complaints! And I told here I don‘t like my main course anymore and ordered the bill. She was understanding my complaints and asked for a couple of minutes!

The headwaiter Pablo came to our table and asked what happened. I described him our complaints about wine, wrong food and so on and his bad manners. I told him that the manager will help us, he can’t. He was very angry and advised the waiter to clean our table, his gesture says he would like to see us disappearing! A very rude person and on the wrong place !

The good thing: the managers were very polite, understands what we complaints and refund the full amount of our consumption!

But very sad, because we would like to enjoy a nice dinner at an special evening!

And for the restaurant on that lovely place too !! There are many things...

Good food but trying to scam foreigners. I have been a few times to this place; their ceviche peruano is great. The octopus is also tasty and not chewy. The meat is also excellent but the pasta are a bit too oily/greasy. I just didn't like that because I am a foreigner they insisted for my friend to pay extra. So good food but poor behaviour, I'll go somewhere else...

Fantastic Peruvian restaurant in the heart of Guayaquil! Amazing combination of culinary worlds, traditional Peruvian with a mix of new trends. Loved the Tiradito con ají amarillo, arroz dos conchas y langostinos. Everything is super well presented. Service is super friendly, nice beautiful hostesses that will welcome you.
