McDonald's — Restaurant in Cairo

5 stars for the food, 1 star for cleanliness level (or lack of I must say)

الأكل يستحق 5 نجمات، لكن 1 نجمة لعدم نظافة المكان

It's McDonald's, we normally don't expect much, but I was happily surprised of how good and fresh the food was. I stopped eating McDonald's in Egypt cause of bad it tastes (not fresh.. terrible french fries normally very saggy.. the vegetables are not fresh.. ect.). However, this branch changed my mind completely. You need to try the food there.

دة ماكدونالدز.. مبنتوقعش كثير عادة، بس بصراحة اتصدمت لما دقت الأكل من جماله. أنا كنت بطلت أكل ماكدونالدز في مصر من زمان، عشان الطعم مختلف ووحش مقارنة بدول تانية، عادة بيكون مش طازة، البطاطس مزيتة وقديمة، الخضار جوة الساندوتش مش طازة. لكن الفرع دة غير فكرتي تماما وخلاني أغير رأيي. واضح إن العيب كان في الفروع الأخرى. لازم تجربوا تاكلوا هناك.

On a crowded road

على شارع عمومي مزدحم

Parking is not very easy, not many closed by spots available

الركن مش سهل قوي، مش دايما حتلاقي ركن قريب منه

They have smart screens to order from so you don't have to stand in line

مش لازم تقف في الطابور والزحمة، ممكن تطلب من على الشاشة

The only thing that was a bit confusing for me was when i ordered I was supposed to grab a plastic piece with a number on it (it was not closed by the screen like I'm used to overseas) and to then enter the number into the screen before I could complete the order. I asked for help.

الحاجة اللي لخبطتني شوية ان بعد ما طلبت من على السكرين كان لازم اخد حاجة عليها رقم وادخل الرقم عشان أتمم الطلب. أنا متعودة خارج مصر إن الحاجة دي بتبقى عند السكرين نفسها، لكن في الفرع دة كانت بعيدة، ومن هنا حصل اللخبطة عندي. بس طلبت مساعدة وفهمت.

Cleanliness level is very bad, which is a combination of 2 things in my opinion; most costumers don't take their trays to the trashcan section, and the workers are just very exhausted and slow when it comes to clear/clean the tables

مستوى النظافة سيء للغاية، السبب ممكن يكون خليط من حاجتين من وجهة نظري، معظم الناس مش متعودة تنظف وراها وتشيل الصنية بتاعتها وترمي الحاجات في الزبالة، والعمال كانوا مرهقين جدا وفيه بطىء شديد في انهم يفضوا/ينظفوا الترابيزات

Bathroom was terribly disgusting. I asked the guy to clean it, but he didn't do a good job so I couldn't use it at all

الحمام كان قذر وشعرت بالقرف الشديد، طلبت منهم ينظفوه بس بصراحة متنظفش كويس وقرفت أدخله

It was very crowded, therefore loud

كان زحمة وبالتالي دوشة

It's more suitable for the younger crowd

مناسب أكثر للمراهقين

Ac was not working well

التكييف مكانش عامل حاجة

Didn't like the odor in the place

مكنتش حابة ريحة المكان

It is fairly big, and many different sections

كبير ومتقسم لكذا سيكشن

The play area was closed, I'm guessing that it's due to the virus, but kids were still hanging out there as there was some tables and chairs available

المكان المخصص للعب الأطفال كان مقفول، غالبا عشان كورونا، بس الأولاد كانوا هناك بيلعبوا عشان كان هناك كراسي وترابيزات

I wouldn't dine in, but would take out food, as I was turned off by the dirtiness of the place

I mean, it's McDonald's... That one messing star is for the taste, I mean they got it all, the atmosphere, there service, the tech implementation (Smart screen order ), and, of course, that nostalgic taste hasn't changed. Worst experience as usual. This branch is always under bad management. It's like they are at home chatting together and wasting customer time. I noticed this problem in spite of the change of managers. I will stick to Citystars branch. Best management, quick...
