Peking — Restaurant in Cairo

We have been there last night... and, most probably, it was our last time. There were three Egyptian women sitting there and smoking non stop. Literally, finishing one cigarette and starting the next one straight away. All three of them. I never saw something like this! It was impossible to breath - the air was foggy from the smoke. In all civilised countries it is already forbidden to smoke in a public places. Well, at least, smokers should sit somewhere separately in a place which has a very good ventilation. And this was not the case. The only thing the waiter could do is to open the fan on AC which didn't make a big difference. It is not a pub in the end! People are coming there to eat and relax. All our clothes are smelly and my 7 years old daughter is coughing since last night! It is unacceptable! I will try to reach the owner, Mr. Hani, to discuss this topic with him personally. Restaurant will loose us as its customers if they will not work on it, although food is always very fresh and tasty and we are coming...

My visit was on 27 Dec. 2022 The ambience is nice, the food was amazing (must try mushroom appetizer). BUT it is a smoking restaurant only (no designated area with good ventilation for non-smokers, which there were no indicationir signs for and we were not told upon entry. I had to cut my meal short as I got short breath and ran out of the place once another customer started smoking. The place has no natural air flow and the manager and waiters said we can move you to the back of the restaurant 😡😤 then they said we will open the window but didn't until I almost ran out of breath and literally ran out, leaving my husband. That is why I am never going back honestly. Such a shame that something like that ruins the reputation of a place! If you have alergies, like the food and never mind the experience, maybe try...
