Solis Restaurant — Restaurant in Cairo

Summary: nice view with some delicious dishes and some mediocre ones!. Disappointing burger!. I wouldn’t say a bad service, but for a hotel and a restaurant like that, the service was not professional nor good enough, and very slow.

I came here for the burger as I have heard it one of the best, and for the nile view. We were two persons, we were seated outside with a nice nile and pool view (To our preference). We asked the waiter about how the chicken in “Zaatar chicken Plate” cooked, he couldn’t answer us, and said that the menu was recently changed and he also cannot recommend us specific dishes from the menu!. So we went ahead and ordered the same chicken plate and Solis burger, along with chicken caesar salad and lemon mint juice. Service was slow as the salad came after around 20 minutes, other dishes after 50-60 minutes and the lemon juice came later although requested with the food.

My review of the dishes:

Chicken Caesar salad: Very nice, the chicken were beautifully cooked, caesar dressing was not too much and not too little. But the salad needed more lettuce.

Solis burger (Ordered medium well): Was disappointed to be honest, the burger was good at best, was not hot and not even warm (Probably cooked it waited for the other dish to be ready!), the burger was not juicy enough, which could mean that the fat percentage of the ground beef was not enough. Most importantly, the burger didn’t feel evenly cooked!

Zaatar Chicken: Was delicious, the chicken were perfectly cooked, full of spice. Highly recommended. Note: The portions won’t make you feel full (unless you ordered entrees and desserts)

Lemon mint juice: Underwhelming, You could buy a better tasting juice for less than half the price.

After eating they asked us for feedback and I told them, but they didn’t seem to accept or react professionally to it.

Solis restaurant

There are good things, there are great things and there are the things you love. If you are lucky, you can get three in one. We were lucky. We found this restaurant in the hotel where we stayed for a couple of days while exploring Cairo. After the day full of tours we were reluctant to go anywhere far away, so we just went to the second floor and… were amazed by the view! You can have inside or outdoors tables, smoking and non-smoking areas, and all the tables actually will give you a marvelous view — pool and Nile, which is especially good at sunset. The menu proposes wide selection of food. We were mostly interested in sushi (if you also are, I recommend you to take the crispy roll, my personal favorite), and our son went for Solis burger. All the food was delicious, the waiters very helpful and attentive, the general atmosphere exactly as you would like it in the evening after a busy day. Food is really delicious and I have tried shrimp pineapple pizza was really amaziiiiiiiiiing one my favourite vegeterian sandwich , fries and Pasta are so good Also tried vegeterian pizza by request and it was also good And my friends arranged a small Birthday cake I love it

Drinks I loved the cocktail juice it is fresh with small pieces of fruits like mange strawberry and kiwi .. also Iced Mocha was good.

Price is moderate regarding the very good quality
