Olive Garden Italian Restaurant — Restaurant in Antiguo Cuscatlán

The Olive Garden located in the Gran Villa is nice.

But the service is slow. It was not busy when we arrived, most customers were seated in the terrace and half of the inside was reserved.

They do not offer endless breadsticks or salads like in the USA and Canada Olive Gardens. You have to ask for it and I think they charge you for it. I was told that the salad only comes with the “Plato’s fuertes”. I guess they do not follow the endless breadsticks and salads even though they are part of the same chain of restaurant.

Some dishes taste better than others.

They don’t offer as much options as the North American Olive Gardens.

The waiter / hostess were polite. But it’s hard to find / wave someone over.

The chair had bird feces.

Customer service isn’t a thing in El Salvador like it is in North America. I had to look for the guy that brought us water / drinks since they didn’t bring us an item. He saw me buy he tried to avoid me. The only time you interact with the waiter is when they take your drink order and food order. Then someone else brings out the food.

I took my nieces for a lunch there, they enjoyed it, but my chicken was hard and chewy, my drink, some summer limonade, was way too sour. The waiter lacked some manners, he did not check on us frequently, and at the end, someone else collected the bill. He, we were told, went to have lunch. The restaurant was almost empty, I can't imagine what the service is like when is full. To me olive garden restaurants are not high end restaurants, why in el salvador people think this place is so special, I have no idea. An Italian restaurant! I love their food. There is a variety of pastas and seafood. My favorite dish is called . The Italian tour. Three different types of pasta. This a perfect place for a date where you could enjoy of a delicious Italian style pasta and a cup of wine. They have dishes that can be shared.The is also a variety of drinks.
