El Holandés Errante BBQ — Restaurant in San Salvador

We ate at Holandés Errante our first night in San Salvador - as a girl raised on NC barbecue, my standards were pretty high. I have to say that the BBQ here is really REALLY good. We ordered the brisket, salchicha, pulled pork, ribs, Mac and cheese, cucumber salad, and apple tart for dessert. The bill was $100 (which is wild for bbq) but we ordered a crazy amount of food so I get it lol. Plus it was enough for four servings, which breaks down to $25/serving, which is more than fair for food of this caliber. The brisket was outstanding and so was the sausage. The pulled pork was really good although I prefer mine with a tidge more moisture. I loved the cucumber salad and the apple tart/vanilla ice cream. And the hierbabuena lemonade was perfection. The only disappointment was the mac and cheese, but again, as a Black woman raised in the south where baked mac and cheese reigns supreme and it’s an honor to be allowed to make it for family occasions, I know my standards are really high. I would maybe add a sharp cheese and some pepper - and I’m also a sucker for a nice crust on baked mac that just wasn’t there. Anyway, the restaurant/courtyard is super cute, and the servers were very pleasant. There was a weird thing where my friend asked for the wifi password and was told they didn’t have WiFi, but then when I was trying to call an Uber home and needed WiFi to call a car, they connected my phone to the Wi-Fi network. I've heard a lot of good comments about this place and finally had the chance to visit it. The place is a very cozy open patio and roofed area where the tables are set. They have an open kitchen and bar where the beverage are prepared. I ordered the brisket choice and I have to say the flavor was on point, the amount of food was good enough for one person. I tried the pulled pork my friend ordered and I perceived it was too dry.
