We got the meat grenka and the duck grenka. The meat grenka is supposed to be cold, which I didn't know, but it was quite tasty. The serving was beautiful, decorated with berries. Still, they are quite uncomfortable to eat, so better use your hands...
The duck grenka was very tasty, one of the best meals we tried. Since they serve it differently than the meat one, it is easier to eat. The berry sauce really adds to the entire meal. I would personally rate the meat grenka a 8/10 and the duck one an absolute 10.
We also got the cherry grapefruit lemonade, it comes in a big glass and is a really refreshing combination.
We got dessert too: the Napoleon and roasted plums with ice-cream. The napoleon was great, you can feel really well the layers of cream and dough. It also comes with ice-cream, cranberry jam and berries, so you can really try out different combinations with these things. Each bite tastes different. This really spiced up the cake, also the strawberries were so ripe and sweet, which is quite surprising and pleasant.
The plums were also tasty, but nothing special, we expected them to be at least grilled in sugar or something. They felts just like warmed-up plums, not roasted.
Price wise we spend more than 20€ per person, since we got dessert and drinks too.
The atmosphere is nice in the cafe, it is very well color-coordinated in shades of blue. The decorations are also on-point and add to the vibe. What I would mention is that the tables are quite small and it is a bit uncomfortable to eat, I accidentally dropped my knive because it didn't fit properly on the table.
When you sit at a table, you are served water with lemon, this helps the client feel more valued and it is helpful in general on a summer day.
Overall, it is a really nice place to go to. We enjoyed our meals and...
Read moreI end up not being served at this place, unfortunately. I believe could be an interesting/good experience but some employees do make the place, either it is for good or for not that good. This case, I arrived at 11:50 at the place. Me and my partner were told we had to order at the cashier, pay and then sit, however we had some bags so the lady said to sit, decide and then go to order. We did. We noticed at the menu that breakfast option were only available up to 12:00. However as we arrived before we thought wouldn’t be a problem for us and no one had let us know about it. We then went to order at 11:59/12:00 sharp and we got the simple answer: “no. We can’t” when we tried to appeal that we arrived earlier, we only wanted 2 porridges as well she just said: “you can decide other food there” So, basically didn’t want to make the effort. That’s now how you treat a customer and I believe it was not appropriate being so strict with the schedule specially as were there 10mins before but well. Only to express my disappointment and just that people do make places better or worst. This happened on last...
Read moreWe visited the cafe on April 14th. Initially we were somewhat skeptical due to some publicity about the place, queues at the entrance, and waiting up to half an hour to seating st a table. What came of it: the place is really worth its positive reviews. Of course, during breakfast (until 13:00) the place is full, so it is better to book a table in advance. The waitresses are very friendly, despite the workload, they can easily guide you through the menu. As for the food: the portions are huge, with high-quality and fresh ingredients, full of flavor, worth every cent. The Pavlova dessert and chocolate fondant with ice cream were prepared perfectly (although the cook didn’t get the fondant right the first time. I’ll say right away that they didn’t bring us the fondant, the waitress warned us about this, that the waiting time had increased a little, because the dessert was being remade in the kitchen) . Despite the number of people and the bustling environment, it is pleasant to have breakfast there and your stay does not cause discomfort. We will be happy to...
