I went with my partner in July 2018 and booked a double room that came with twin beds. ||||No bells and whistles, simply a place to sleep. It’s a family run hotel so the doors are locked after 12 midnight. You have to ring the bell multiple times to be let in. ||||There is free breakfast but the breakfast is paltry with very little options for food. No vegan or gluten free breakfast options.||||The rooms are dated and has thin walls. There was a staff member during our last two days constantly walking back and forth in the hallway doing repairs during the early morning and afternoon. Also, the TV is very old and only had Russian and Estonian channels. There was no air conditioner/cooling in the room. There also were not enough electrical outlets in the room. Wifi was very spotty and stopped working (staff did not help with providing a solution). The beds were surprisingly comfortable but if you do not like spring beds, you will not enjoy your stay. The bathroom was dirty, the curtains had mold on it and there was residue in the tiles when we checked into the room. The towels were cheap-grade, thin and smelled very old. ||||There is no lift/elevator so please be aware of that. There was no help from the staff with our luggage. The staff was not very friendly, did not speak much English and were unprofessional. They only have large physical keys as your room key (they only give one) which can be a nuisance. This key had to be used to lock the door from the inside which could have created a fire hazard.||||The neighborhood where the hotel was located was a bit out of the historic Old Town. It was about a 15 minute walk which is okay but at night, it felt a bit unsafe walking around. There is nothing around the hotel in terms of restaurants or shops. ||||I do not recommend staying at this hotel for more than one night. If you are staying in Tallinn for more than one night, choose a different hotel. I do not plan on...
Read moreWe knew it was a cheap hotel and didn't expect much, but it still sounded better from reviews than appeared. The hotel is located in a very uninviting area. Walking to the old town is possible, but it's still a good 15-20 minute walk through the area with little attractions. We were surprized that there was only 1 small store in this whole district and even that was closed at 16:00 (due to holiday). ||The hotel is not inviting either. Looks from the outside and the inside like a modernized soviet building. We booked a double room, but there were 3 beds in our room. The extra bed taking the space which isn't enough in the room. The odor in the room wan't pleasant. The floor didn't seem to be swept well. Rust on the heat pipes in the room. Old TV. Wifi worked poorly. Not the cleanest bathroom either. No shampoo/shower gel - only some cheap kind of liquid soap on the sink. No room serivce.||Very poor breakfast - cheap with little choices. But the worst was the attitude of the personnel. The lady serving breakfast showed attitude as if guests were unwelcome intruders in this hotel. When the coffee ran out and she was asked for a refill she gave a look as if she was asked for a huge favor she wasn't in the mood to fulfill. The ladies at the check-in kept asking for a room number each time you passed by.||So the overall impression is of a hostel where you're not welcome at all.||Please look for a better place to stay not to ruin the...
Read moreThis was, without a doubt, one of the most disappointing stays we’ve ever had. The room was clearly not properly cleaned — thick dust in the corners, under the bed, and most shockingly, a fridge that was absolutely disgusting. It was full of mold, smelled awful, and was clearly a health hazard. We couldn’t even bring ourselves to use it — it was so bad that opening the door was enough to make us feel sick. It was completely unusable.
When we reported this to the woman at reception, her response was shockingly dismissive. She just said “sorry” and offered for us to use the staff fridge — as if that somehow made it acceptable. She wrote down our room number and said she would inform her boss. But clearly, nothing was done.
The next morning, reception was still closed at 10 AM (seriously?), so we called the number on the door. The man who answered was incredibly rude, clearly hadn’t been told anything, and made no effort to help. From his tone, it was obvious: they just don’t care. Once they’ve taken your money, you’re on your own.
We didn’t expect luxury, but we did expect a clean room and at least a basic level of hospitality. Instead, we were treated like an inconvenience. This was not just a disappointing experience — it was an upsetting one. I strongly advise others to stay elsewhere until this property decides to take cleanliness, safety, and guest...
