I visited this restaurant today with high expectations based on its reputation for authentic Ethiopian cuisine, but my experience was utterly disappointing.
As a Muslim family, we requested our Shakla Tibs to be fully cooked, as we do not consume raw meat. What we received, however, was overcooked meat that was so burned it was unchewable and completely inedible. My two-year-old son, who was hungry and excited to eat, couldn’t manage a single bite. This forced us to leave the restaurant in frustration and find another place to eat.
The manager acknowledged the issue and apologized, explaining that the waitress didn’t speak English well. While I appreciated his understanding, this excuse is simply unacceptable for a restaurant of such a reputation. Staff should be trained to handle such basic requests to avoid ruining the dining experience for their customers.
Despite the poor service and ruined meal, I still paid the full bill, including a tip, but I left feeling completely let down.
