Sale e Pepe — Restaurant in Addis Ababa

This restaurant is situated in the heart of a semi-urban area near Kebena round about.

I usually don’t write reviews but after three visits, I was super excited to find a perfect restaurant with constantly great service and delicious food.

The menu offers a wide variety of delicious and mouthwatering starters, main courses and desserts. The first time, I was there I had Black pepper steak. The second time, I had pasta with pesto sauce. Today, I had beef tenderloin steak with mushroom sauce medium well with side of grilled eggplant and zucchini. My friends tried something else. They were all exquisite. Everything we ate was fresh and delicious.

The foods are pricey but surely worth it. The service was the highest quality. The waiters were very engaged and interested in their jobs. The owner seemed very warm and thoughtful. She came around to check on our experience and seemed to be authentically engaged. I highly recommend this restaurant. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is brilliant. Set in an old villa, this Italian restaurant is located by one of the major corridors. It has a nice outside space featuring a pizza often. Inside the main house the restaurant is spread across 3 rooms.

Food wise, I can only comment on the lasagna and the beef in a wine sauce. The presentation was not the best, and is out of the 1980s. The lasagna was not piping hot as we would like. Beautifully crafted Italian dishes with a nicely decorated old style residential house converted into a classy restaurant. A garden view and a veranda. They have maintained the old house with all the beautiful flooring, fireplace, and windows. They have some painting on the wall, not sure if they are for sale but fine arts, nonethelss.
