I had a lovely experience dining at Tiny italy in Addis Ababa. The ambiance is beautifully done warm, stylish, and perfect for a relaxed evening. The food was genuinely delicious, with great flavors and presentation. However, I feel there’s room for improvement in the service. While the staff were friendly and welcoming, the overall experience didn’t quite meet what you’d expect from a fine dining restaurant. For example, after receiving the menu, there was a long wait before anyone returned to take the order. Small details like the order of setting cutlery or how the plates were served felt a bit unpolished. This isn’t a criticism of this place alone I’ve noticed similar patterns in many otherwise great restaurants across Addis. It may be a gap in training or industry standards, but I hope to see more focus on refining the service aspect, especially with so many visitors and locals seeking international-level experiences. Read moreI’m so disappointed and I’ll never come here again. Nowhere on their website or in any prior communication did the restaurant mention a specific dress code. When I arrived, I was dressed in shoulder less top and jeans, which I consider appropriate for a casual dining experience. However, I was taken aback when the staff made comments about my attire and implied it wasn't up to their standards.
What baffled me even more was the apparent double standard. It seemed that if a celebrity or someone famous had been dining at the restaurant, they would have been more lenient with the dress code. This kind of preferential treatment left me feeling unwelcome and discriminated against.

After we paid for our meal, the cashier informed us we should have paid differently, which was confusing. Then, three days later, we were contacted by their finance office, who said it would take 15 days to process our refund. This raised some red flags—it felt like there’s something shady happening in their finance department, as if they’re hoping customers will forget about the refund so they can collect the money later.
