I am thoroughly disappointed. I was allocated this hotel due to a layover assigned by Ethiopian airline. This assignment occurred because Skyline, my previous layover was fully-booked. That’s negative points on EA’s management. I arrived at this hotel and was shocked. The entrance area and general vicinity is a tragedy and feels incredibly unsafe, the room is atrocious, the lighting in all areas is poor and muted (furthermore one of the globes in my room was busted and not replaced). The walls are horrendous and an entire section of the room is unlit. The balcony (if you can call it that) overlooks a a clothes line and a wall. Quite the view. The bathroom was no picnic by any means. The toilet roll holder was not properly attached, the walls are damaged and clearly have been for a while, the silicone job on the windows was clearly done without any care and the grand total amenities consists of a single bar of hand soap and a 250ml bottle of water. There furthermore appears to be no fire detection equipment in the room.
Now the positives because there are some. The service itself is decent and reliable and the host is easy to talk to and intelligent so queries within his control are dealt with pretty expediently.
TLDR, the 4 star rating is undeserved, pictures presenting this place are dishonest. This hotel is a 2 star hotel with 3-4 star service and honestly really should be reevaluated if Ethiopian air is going to continue working with them.
Edit: as I am writing this, I can hear eerie and ominous noises outside which are (obviously) not being dealt with, so take that...
Read moreMy experience in this hotel was the worst I have ever had. They call it international hotel, but any local hotels are much better than this. First, it is very expensive to the money you pay. They will give you WiFi password, but it is better to say there is no WiFi at all. You will be cut off from the rest of the world if you don't have your own data. There were two small TVs in the suite we stayed. They never worked. When we asked for a help, they said a technitian will come & fix it, but no one came. So do not expect TV if you are in this local hotel. The service is very low. When we asked for some softdrinks, they said they have only sprit. Lol. This was so embarrassing to an international hotel to have no any other drink but only one out is endless drinks. The wall sockets are all blocked except one. We had to unplug the non working TV power cables to charge our mobile phones. Next, the side doors are non lockable. We were very worried as our suite was in the first floor and there was a ladder near the balcony. The suite was not very clean though it had bigger space. I can say the washroom is the dirtiest place. The loilet looks it has never been used with the strains. Generally, I do not recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a good service and a...
Read moreThis hotel was provided by Ethiopian Airlines for a night layover. First, the driver made us wait 40 mins in the shuttle before leaving the airport while the hotel is just 5 minutes away and he could have done a round trip to drop us.|Food provided looked like it was there all day and was cold. Staff was nice but you could feel they didn’t want to be there and with you.|I got room 205 which I completely don’t recommend if you are ever forced to stay there! No plugs to changer your phone, horrible lightning, no battery in TV remote, bathroom with a large clear window that allows everyone in the front building to look at you pee and shower, bad WiFi and noise all night long from the court ward. A dog spent 1h non stop barking in front of the hotel and despite a call to reception, no one care to try to move it away. Forget some sleep in the morning as people waiting for the shuttle will seat around the court ward and their voice will echo over the walls.|I have stayed at multiple hotel with Ethiopian Airlines but this is by...
