A friend of mine and I went there for lunch. We ordered 'shiro', 'beyaynetu' and coffee. The food was great but not the coffee. We were served well. The restaurant is also in one of the tallest places in Lalibela, and you can see the surrounding area in almost all directions. What is more impressive is the rehabilitation work of the mountain that belong to the restaurant. You will find many kinds of fruits and other trees. You rarely find forest and fruits in mountainous areas like Lalibela. It seems that when individuals have private incentives, they do a better job in terms of protecting nature. I hope i will find a dense forest when i go there next time. I am sure you will be impressed if you admire nature.
But I did not like the materials, particularly the metallic ones, the building is made off. I feel like the materials are below standard and do not match with the 800 years old churches and even with some of the hotels i saw in Lalibela. And please change the chairs and the tables. Perhaps, it is also good to put a direction sign on the floor. Climbing to the top floor and walking to the rest room seems confusing for a new visitor. Your customers should not ask the...

Run by a Scottish woman who was outgoing and kind, she instantly became our best friend and offered to sit us on the top eating pad...but our friend was deathly afraid and wanted to pitch us from the heights for bringing him.but, he did thoroughly enjoy the views and food. She blends Ethiopian and Scottish cuisine in a very unique way, so if you're not into something fun and adventurous, go home and stay there. Note: if you are a foreigner, you're IN ETHIOPIA. Not everything is available due to seasons or cultural and religious practices, or even import. Check yourself. You're a guest here.
And OMG the sunset is a phenomenal experience of oneness with the universe.
Note: if you want a great view of the sunset plan to arrive a hour or so before it begins, tour groups frequent this restaurant and can sometimes overcrowd the best viewing spots.

I recommend going to see the sunset as the views are just breathtaking all around you. When it gets dark there isn't too much light at the very top but it's manageable. The washrooms here are also very clean.
Food I got the #vegetarian Sheppard's Pie with Shiro and though it was good it didn't blow my mind like other spots in Ethiopia. The prices are reasonable and even though food was decent, I still recommend going to this place.
