Over all it is a pretty decent but pretty average location in terms of food and atmosphere. The customer service is very nice and there are smiles all around but as it comes to the rush hour, the quality of the food drops significantly and therefore proves to be a problem. The atmosphere also becomes very gloomy on most days and with all the bird droppings and stray dogs around the eating area a concern for hygiene can be expressed. Southern Cross Restaurant is quite welcoming of students, particularly tertiary level ones. There is a budgetable menu with affordable food prices especially for students. The environment is clean. There is a cozy setup. The food is quite delicious. The menu is varied. The staff are friendly. It is good for lunch and dinner and everything in between. The place is well lit and ventilated. Southern cross is USP's meeting point for many students.... their new Eric's Chilli Chicken for just 8.00 is just spot on ..... Loads of tables for eating in but pretty full during the weekdays....

They do not have a "return tray" which makes the tables to be piled with dirty plates before it is collected by the staff and this also invites alot of flies. Hope the management could...
