Worst Father's Day experience ever - which even a free jug of juice couldn't fix!
Reservation:
Made an online reservation for lunch at 12.30pm through the website. Arrived, staff didn't seem to be aware of reservation.
Waiting time and orders:
Seated, waited some time before we were provided menus. Placed order at about 12.45 and weren't told till 2.25pm that the kitchen was out of beef. Food only started coming out at 2.35pm.
My husband had to walk across the road to get some food and snacks for our toddler to keep him calm while we waited.
While one order was wrong (and no, we didn't correct it for fear of a longer wait!), my father didn't get his order at all and we had to remind staff.
Turns out there was some beef left as we got it on the platter but not the other two dishes we ordered. And on payment, the bill wasn't corrected to take into account the change in one of the orders.
Overall experience:
The wait was so long that even my other young children noticed, one saying, that this wasn't a normal restaurant because we had to wait so long and I was so hungry. And no, we didn't cause a scene at the restaurant as we didn't want to spoil anyone else's experience.
In terms of service, to say it was poor is an understatement - it...

Open for lunch and dinner daily, the menus slightly different with Food served alongside local Beers, Cocktails and Milkshakes, guests are greeted by pleasant servers well-informed of the Chef’s ingredients and inspirations.
Operated by Benjamin Hussein, often seen tending to a spit-roast Hog outside, it is amidst modern confines that diners enjoy everything from Fried Walu to Coconut Milk Bao Buns stuffed with a choice of protein such as moist, chopped Chicken.
Using housemade Pickles and Salsa to add flavor, though the Chili and Lime do plenty for Vasaqua’s Bird, Pork is predictably faultless with hints of smoke and crisp Skin while made-to-order Fries come in thick wedges with a soft interior and an oilless yet crunchy surface.
Globally influenced, but done right with all local Ingredients, Taco shells aren’t the usual but serve their purpose and for those seeking something sweet the “Guava Freak Shake” utilizes housemade Juice and Syrup to create something cold, refreshing and...
Read moreVasaqa has the best food by far in Nadi (next to my grandmothers cooking) we went there twice. We ordered a pork gyoza, t bone steak, sirloin steak and 350 g of the smoked braised beef. Everything was absolutely incredible! The bartender is quite creative as well, I requested a bartender special and he made me a chai rum type of cocktail which was delicious.
Service was good. Our servers, Margaret and John were very friendly and helpful. I could tell there was some training happening - awesome!
The atmosphere is great also! Upscale for Fiji but gives off a casual and approachable vibe. Although I think a surround sound system would really enhance the good vibes.
The patio is also great, lots of mosquitoes but They give you some bug spray! I think a bug lamp or mosquito net would enhance the patio.
The only complaint I have would be that they were out of a lot of things on their menu both times we were there. Maybe a supply chain issue? Either way what we ended up ordering...
