From the side of the road I was enticed by the fragrant smell of fresh, hot bread. And walking into the store I found immediate sanctuary from the hot summer sun. It took a moment for my eyes to adjust to the change in light but when they did I saw the most beautiful thing I've ever seen in my life - (replacing the experience of watching my wife give birth to my son) - walls and walls of bread. Loaves, buns, pies you name it. It was there hot, fresh, and ready to be eaten and it was calling my name. Eureka! I shouted. I am home! The staff looked at me with kind eyes. Salivating I asked them for a cream bun (at the low low cost of 80c). There is a trick to the cream bun, and it is to split it in half and spread the delectable cream across all areas of the bun. Taking a bite, I was transported to the day I got my puppy. I recall its wagging tail. The sparkle in its big bright eyes. The next bite brought me back to my mother's home cooking. My third bite reminded me of my brothers and I running through luscious rolling hills. Their laugh as we made flower crowns and then I beat them both in a race. For the first time (I'm the oldest but a really slow runner). Anyways, I just write this to show my appreciation to the hot bread kitchen and thank them for all the hard work that they do. Please keep doing what...
Read moreThis business runs out of long loaf which is very popular. As a good business they should go with customer demand. When we asked for it we were told they were out so we challenged them to go check in the back since we saw them giving it to another dude. Then magically they came back with a tray of long loaf. It is a bummer that I have to put this review since this is my favorite thing to eat during my...
Read moreI had already tried the cream bun at the Port Denarau store and it was so good, so I decided to come here to get more since it was the store closest to me, but it was not the same. The bread for the cream bun wasn't soft and fluffy, but a lot harder. The cream was sweeter as well. I tried the mutton pie, which was alright as well. Being from Australia, I have had my fair share of really good pies, so this wasn't the worst or the best pie I've had. Overall, I was really hoping for the taste experience I had a few days ago, but I was...
