Tucked at the rear of Jetpoint Plaza, Red Pepper Restaurant and Bar doesn’t look like much. The arcade exterior is decorated with photos of the food. Inside rows of red plastic tables are surrounded by shiny silver chairs each with a red seat cushion. You’re not here for the ambience however, you’re here for the Punjabi food, the haryali chicken (FJ$15.50/small) in particular. It’s the best thing from a tandoor I have ever put in my mouth. Deep green in colour, the tasty bird sections have been marinated in a blend of yoghurt, spinach, cashew nut, egg, garlic, chilli and cheese, then roasted to charry perfection. Wrap it in a garlic naan (FJ$3), pop it into your mouth, and smile for the rest of the afternoon. Fluffy and flexible with the requisite char, all the butter naan (FJ$3) is also great. Served in four pieces, it’s big enough to share. Coated in creamy yoghurt, the Afghani chicken (FJ$15.50/small) puts out the fire. Assemble-your-own panipuri (FJ$7/8 pieces) are perfect palate cleansers, punctuating each new part of your meal. Channa chaat (FJ$10) is piled so high onto a cute triangular platter it creates landslides every time we try to serve it: but the crunchy mix of pulses and fresh cucumber topped with shattered pappadum is a good contrast to the excellent bird. Clean, green Tribe vodka pre-mixes (FJ$7.50) in lime or the dryer lemon are easy to neck. I liked this spot so much I was tempted to come back for lunch the next day: a great spot to escape bland resort dining!

I came here in fiji first time from Australia, I got a bit of trouble to find pure vegetarian food here. I found this is the only punjabi Restaurant in Nadi, i bring hope that, this Restaurant may help me to organise the pure vegetarian food for me. I was surprised from the welcoming, positive, very friendly attitude by the Owner and the team. They not only organise the pure vegetarian food for me, also they serve me like a family member. Such a positive attitude. The food was Awesome. I had Paneer bhurji, Black channa, Bhindi, Tandoori roti. I highly recommend to all of my friends and the people from whole world who come to Nadi, to visit this restaurant. You will love this place.

Exceptional food and great overall experience. The paratha bread was authentic and a definite highlight! We took our servers recommendation of Kadhai chicken and now have a new favorite curry! We also had delicious fish curry, naan, and rice, which were all great. Lovely masala tea as well. Thank you to our friendly servers and the talented chef!! Fyi: there are two restaurants across the hall from each other that have the same owner but different menus - if you want Punjabi Indian make sure you double check it's the right one :)
