Brasserie SLO Room — Restaurant in Helsinki sub-region

Dined here on Friday evening, it was our second visit. I had fish taco and chicken taco (the previous time we had the pork one). They all were good, can't really say which is the best. The pork one tasted salty and sweet. The chicken one had more spices to it and the fish one had crispy light batter. We also had Café de Paris entrecôte, which we asked for medium rare and the chef delivered exactly that. Oven roasted veges and creamy smooth mashed potatoes came with the dish as well, everything worked perfectly together 👌 To finish it off, we had their sticky toffee date pudding. The toffee sauce paired beautifully with the pudding. I'd recommend having a cup of tea or coffee with it as it's a bit on the sweet side. The lady on duty was cheery, attentive and friendly. We'll definitely be back!

Good location, good service, decent portions but I don't think I would visit here again. Charcuterie board was absolute disappointment, they serve 3 types of cheese, they were hardened and not that fresh. No crackers. Supposedly "fig jam" wasn't a fig jam. If it was, there was something seriously wrong with it, it didn't taste right or anything near figs. Too expensive for what it was. Then, I had the "buloz". Lamb and sauce was great, but the risotto was undercooked. The consistency was more of a porridge than a risotto. Then French onion soup. The soup itself was good, but one of the bread slices was too charred and it was inedible. Wines were ok. Lastly, inside the restaurant was full of flies. I have been here two times shortly after each other for dinner and both evenings I enjoyed the food very much. The atmosphere in the restaurant is good, the menu is rather simple but the variety is big. For both the starter and the mains, a bit more exclusive options are available. I had the Camembert rôti and Foie gras as starter and those were tasty. Although I had different experiences with Foie gras before. The Tuna piperade steak and the Magret duck breast were the best. A very decent portion of meat and very delicious! The combination with the side dishes were really good and would come back for both of the mains!
