Cafe Nol — Restaurant in Helsinki sub-region

I live nearby and I have been looking forward to try this little cafe with the nice terrace. However I was sadly disappointed by the lack of empathy of who seemed to be the owner.

I visited this café recently with my partner and sat on the terrace for a coffee. I am currently 37 weeks pregnant, struggling with swollen ankles in the summer heat, so I used an extra chair to elevate my feet for a bit of relief (I removed my shoes before doing this not to spoil the chair). The terrace was lively but not full, and there were other free chairs nearby at the terrace and even more indoors.

After sitting there for a while, the owner came out and removed the chair I was using, without giving me a chance to explain. She argued that the terrace was full so I didn’t really refuse because I understood that perhaps there were other customers arriving who needed the chair. Some minutes later, however, we realised that there were no new customers arriving and that actually a few more tables were becoming free.

When my partner later went inside to kindly ask if we could continue using any extra chair, explaining my condition, she flatly refused to discuss it further, and just repeated the argument that the terrace is full. We didn’t understand what was the real reason since the place was clearly not full (there were 3-4 tables free at that moment at the terrace).

By the time we left, there were still several empty tables.

I found the lack of empathy and the way the situation was handled both disappointing and unnecessary. A little kindness goes a long way, especially when someone is visibly heavily pregnant. I would not return based on...

Ihana pieni kahvila Pikkuhuopalahden rannassa! Erikoiskahvit (Caffé Latte, Cappuccino, Espresso) ovat erinomaisia – nautin usein paikan päällä tai haen mukaan. Täytetyt patongit, Skagen-leipä ja salaatit ovat runsaita, maukkaita ja tuoreista ainesta paikan päällä valmistettuja. Kahvin kanssa olen nauttinut mm. Tosca-kakkua, korvapuustin tai pallon jäätelöä. Palvelu on aina ystävällistä ja kahvilaan on mukava tulla. Sisältä löytyy muutama viihtyisä pöytä tuoleineen ja kahvilan edestä terassilta löytyy lisää paikkoja. Kahvilaan pääsee sisään myös lastenvaunujen kanssa. Maisemana edessä näkyy vasta uusittu Pikkuhuopalahden rantaraitti. Kahvilan hinta-laatusuhde on todella hyvä. Käyn kahvilassa varmasti...
