Le Dauphin — Restaurant in Ajaccio

We stayed four nights before catching an early morning ferry. The location was excellent for this. However, the hotel itself lacks any character, despite the photos that attracted me to it! The reception was officious and unfriendly. I thought this would be a hotel above a busy bar full of locals with a friendly buzz. It was empty every night we were there. We booked a room with a port view which we did get from a tiny balcony. We also got a tiny bed for two in a small room with a tiny bathroom. There is no chair and no comfort. The room has been modernised and is very clean. Access is through a separate door in the adjoining building where there is a lift. Breakfast is in a room at the back of the bar and a basket of croissants and bread is handed out on entry. Coffee is from a communal Kona type pot and is not always hot. Selection of food is OK but nothing exciting! Maybe our expectations got the better of us? But for the money we paid we did expect something more than a...

We had a comfortable stay here! The staff, especially the hotel manager, are very kind and patient. That alone made our stay very pleasant, thank you! Our room was enormous with two small balconies, a mini fridge and a large TV. It was enjoyable to gaze out on to the port and mountains every day. Everything we needed was within walking distance from the hotel.

Wifi was challenging here -- the signal was very weak in our room and we only ever managed to get one of our devices successfully on the network. Also our room came with a tub and a handheld shower head so taking a real shower was not possible, which we didn't mind but may be...

This hotel was absolutely lovely! Very clean and perfect location for strolling around Ajaccio. We arrived by plane and rented a car, but this hotel is also close to the ferry terminal. We had a beautiful view of the bay from our spacious suite. The staff were so friendly, helpful and accommodating. They made us feel comfortable and safe traveling during this time, and everything was very clean. I highly reccomend staying here!

Bonus! There is a small bar in the lobby of the hotel and after walking home from a delicious dinner, we had some Rose from the bar up in our room....
