The worst dining experience of my life. My wife’s calzone contained a raw egg with shell pieces, which caused her to contract salmonella and be bedridden for nearly a week. The owner refused to apologize and offered only two calzones and vodka as “compensation.” Absolutely unacceptable – avoid this place. Just a few minutes away, towards the beach at *A'Stagnola, we were served perfectly, and I had one of the best pizzas of my life.
Full Review Our experience at this pizzeria was absolutely terrible. My children had never left a slice of pizza on their plates before – pizza usually pleases everyone, but here it was completely different. The dough was poor: burnt on the outside, undercooked in the middle, and covered with an overly thick layer of greasy cheese. That alone might have been forgivable, but the so-called calzone my wife received looked nothing like the photos on Google – it looked and tasted completely different than it should.
The real problem arose when my wife found a raw egg with shell pieces inside the calzone. We reported it to the waitress and the chef, but unfortunately, the next day my wife became ill, experiencing severe pain, chills, vomiting, and diarrhea. After visiting a doctor, it turned out she had contracted salmonella and spent nearly a week of our vacation bedridden on antibiotics. This diagnosis was later confirmed after we returned home.
What made matters worse was the owner’s attitude – despite several conversations, he refused to talk or apologize. His idea of “compensation” was limited to offering two calzones and vodka. Later he even ran between tables, shouting in his own language in my direction.
In my entire life, I have never had such a negative dining experience. Either the reviews for this place are not genuine, or guests are treated differently depending on the staff’s mood or whether they are tourists or locals. I strongly advise avoiding this place.
And all it would have taken was just one roundabout further towards the beach to reach *A'Stagnola, where we were served perfectly, and I had one of the best pizzas of my life (steak pizza). Not always does the appearance of a restaurant reflect its quality…
I don’t even want to imagine what would have happened if my child had eaten that calzone.
We reported the matter to the health authorities along with medical documentation from Corsica, and also to our lawyer, who will take appropriate action regarding financial and...
