Meeting the owner was the most horrible experience of our whole holiday.
To set the scene: this restaurant is opposite the medical centre. My friend had just been discharged after tearing a ligament in her knee. We had gone there to get food and coffee. Unfortunately we had arrived just as they closed.
The short walk just to get there had been agonising and exhausting for my friend, one of the waiters had kindly let her sit on one of the chairs left outside.
My friend needed to take some medication she had been prescribed and I felt she needed a hot drink. So I’d gone to fetch that and water.
Having returned and sat down we were set upon by the owner - outraged that a clearly injured person dared to drink a bottle of water purchased elsewhere on her property.
We explained we would have ordered from them were they open. It wasn’t as if they were trying to clear away tables and chairs, they were just being left. I would gladly have even paid corkage to remain sat there and let my friend rest enough to manage the walk to where the taxi was due 30 minutes later.
We were repeatedly berated and harassed even after making it clear that we were leaving. The incredibly slow limp that my friend could only move at clearly not fast enough for this woman. She was condescending and obnoxious and started lecturing us on how we don’t understand what it is to run a business like hers. Her harassment continued to our backs as I aided my friend in limping away.
She was utterly devoid of any kindness or compassion with a feigned politeness and level of condescension I have not seen outside of a character from The Handmaid’s Tale.
I would sooner go hungry than even contemplate frequenting an establishment owned by someone who...

The issue was the lack of separation between chicken and other raw products. This negligent practice significantly heightens the risk of salmonella contamination, as raw chicken can easily transmit harmful bacteria to other foods. Unfortunately, this hazard became a reality for me as I fell victim to salmonella poisoning after dining there.
Proceed with caution if considering dining at this establishment.
Discussion with the manager When discussing this concern with the manager , Florence, she displayed hostility and refused to acknowledge any responsibility. She dismissed the possibility of the chicken being the source of the illness, claiming it was fresh and couldn't possibly harbor salmonella. Her ignorance of the disease and its incubation period, insisting it was only 6 hours, further demonstrates the lack of understanding and concern for customer safety at this establishment. After seeking feedback, it's evident that they are unwilling to change their practices, and it does not lead to any new insights.
Proceed with caution if considering dining at this...
Read more3 points: Amazing food, Amazing Staff, amazing appearance. I had the duck, and the portion was so large and with so much fat, couldn’t have been better. All the food looked amazing. They have a lot of options regarding cheese and fondues, but also meats. The waitress for our table was so friendly, laughing with us and cracking jokes, and being really casual. We had such a good time, when we left she thanked us for being such a nice group. Whether that was genuine or not, it still felt very nice. I’d come back just for that! And lastly, the decorations of the place and the layout were very cozy. Would definitely recommend! And you even get a free shot of Genepi in the end! What more...
