Great lakeside location with brilliant service and decent food.
This restaurant is in a stunning location, being situated on the shores of lake Annecy. It makes for a great evening spot to watch the sun set over the lake. The service is fantastic, with our mains arriving in what felt like less than five minutes. The food was good, but not spectacular. There is only one toilet, which can lead to congestion, and we were not here at a busy time so I can only imagine the scenarios which may develop from time to time.
The prices are high, but not extortionate for the area by any means, with most mains costing in the region of €20-25.
As you approach the restaurant along the lakeside you will see a series of interesting photos that I am told are based around the general theme of “movement”. These are very interesting and make for an enjoyable stroll from your origin to the restaurant. My favourite of these was an aerial shot of some deer taken during low-angle sun, making the deer somewhat engulfed by their imposing shadows on the desert landscape in which...
Read moreI came here with full intent to enjoy such a lovely looking restaurant on the beautiful lake. I wanted a beer or two and to share a meal with my friends. We were not super hungry as we were on a full lake bike tour :) So we decided to share. From the start the waiter (tall guy in mid to late 20s) treated us like we were annoying him just by being there. Who knows maybe he doesn't like women, queer people, or people who share a meal but he pretty much ignored us the whole time and barely was able to look us in the eye. He rolled his eyes when we ordered water. He rolled his eyes when we ordered peanuts. He rolled his eyes even when we wanted the check. From the moment he started his service with us we wanted to get out of there. We felt immensely unwelcome here and felt uncomfortable. This guy needs a serious attitude check. I have never been treated this way by anyone or any server. This is the first bad review I've ever written, which is...
Read moreAvoid this place like the plague if you value respectful, friendly service when you sit down at a restaurant. First of all, let me start by saying that I am French. I am used to Parisian servers (notorious for being the rudest of all)...but the service that me and my two friends received at this restaurant was straight-up the worst I have ever experienced. Our tall, short-haired waiter gave us attitude from the moment we sat down. He was smug, dismissive, and literally ignored our requests for things like water, giving us sass the entire time. Seriously, like, eye rolls and huffing under his breath. We had to ask him multiple times for basic things, some of which he just didn't bring, and he kept us waiting for so long to pay the check. I can honestly say this was he first time I felt like dining and ditching as a fair reflection for the...
