We found this wonderful restaurant "by accident" and went there to celebrate a friend's birthday. It was wonderful, we had the menu Gerbure, the starter was delicious. Roquefort with chicory,a very good portion with amazing flavours, and the main matched and went beyond, based on a peasant dish familiar to St Bernadette, LaGerbure, was wonderful and filling. Our sweet was a delicious selection of home made treats. The wine was reasonably priced and the coffee great., we would recommend you try Floc, you will be looking for a bottle to take home! Frederic was an exceptional host with a string of languages to his credit, the design and layout of the restaurant was very different to all of the others in Lourdes which made the whole experience special and added to the ambiance and atmosphere. Sadly we were unable to return again during our stay but will definitely be going back next year. We recommended L'Ami Toulousain to an English friend who then booked a table and his experience matched ours, we would recommend any visitor to Lourdes to find and eat at L'Ami Toulousain, authentic French food delicious! Thank you Frederic for your wonderful food and hospitality and to your Chef and team. Merci beaucoup, a...
Read moreWhat an absolute treat to dine with Frédéric in Lourdes! He is such a warm and passionate host who serves wonderfully simple yet incredibly delicious regional dishes 🇫🇷. We felt so welcomed and loved chatting with him between courses—his knowledge about the world made the experience even richer!
We started with a fresh, vibrant salad topped generously with Roquefort cheese and served with crusty baguette 🥖.
For the main course, we tried the Garbure—a hearty stew made with both ham and duck confit, combined with greens 🥬, beans 🫘, and potatoes 🥔, all simmered in a savory herby broth 😋. Every spoonful was comforting and full of rich, balanced flavors that reminded us of home.
To finish, we enjoyed a decadent fondant au chocolat—gluten-free and made with buckwheat (sarrasine)—served alongside a traditional Tourte de Bigorre 🍫🍰. A perfect ending to a memorable meal.
Thank you, Frédéric ❤️💌, for your incredible hospitality and fascinating stories from...

Came here for lunch with my family of six, including two old folks and two young kids on a weekday. The owner was very welcoming. He prepares, cooks, serves, clears and washes up all by himself. Yet he still served with a smile and humour.
There is only one set menu to order - consisting of 1) a cheese salad, 2) a duck confit stew (traditional Occitan garbure) and 3) coffee with dessert (chocolate cake and muffin). All for just €18. We ordered 4 sets, which was sufficient for the six of us. Special mention should be given to the duck, which slides off the bone easily and the tasty stew, although it’s slightly salty. The owner was also flexible enough to swap tea for coffee for those who couldn’t take coffee.
Overall a good experience and definitely not a tourist trap. Will return again when I’m...
