It's our first trip in France. And it is definitely the worst dinning experience I had in a foreign country. We were treated so badly. We spoke limited French, and the waiters use a 'French only ' attitude throughout the whole serving even one of them speaks good English. Nobody helped us on the menu, we had to guess what we choose , which was a pain then when the food arrived, I nearly cried as it was not what we thought it was at all. We didn't try to ask waiters for help as they were so busy talking to the locals and probably won't have time for us and won't bother speak English to us. We suffered the whole meal with the super salty beef and couldn't get anyone's attention just to ask for some water. Horrible horrible In the end , we decided to leave as soon as we finished food as we knew it would be rude to the chief if we left too much food on the plate. Asked for the bill in our broken French, guess what ?! We waited 20 mins after we requested for bill. I can't believe this is how they serve foreigners in this restaurant. They seems extremely nice to local people. Dear restaurant , if you don't really care about visitors dinning , just put a sign up saying 'locals only ' or 'French speakers only', don't mess us about!!! €58 for two people, I'm so gutted of my...
Read moreWe waited forty minutes across the street in their bar and drank an overpriced bottle of rosé. A lovely young man with a nice manner served it in an ice cooler. I ordered a burger which came with lettuce ( I don’t get how one item can be called a salad). The burger was perfectly cooked and the chips were crusty and delicious. We had ordered another bottle of rosé to accompany our dry meal from the waiter, a burly guy who shouted at ‘our’ sommelier, “What’s your name again?” We weren’t served any water. He left our menus on the table and though my partner spoke to him in French we assume that he was being rude as the English aren’t appreciated. We are Irish but I think all English speakers are considered to be Brits. My daughter had to eat tasteless fish and rice as we had been haughtily informed that the establishment did not do nuggets. I really wanted a dessert but we didn’t feel...
Read moreWonderful terrace in the middle of Maussane. Parking is tricky but well worth a visit. Food is local and fresh. Vegetarian and vegan options are difficult to come by. Great for people watching too. Next visit: winter wind has us sitting inside, different experience but very nice, reminiscent of an old Paris restaurant Next visit: after a change of ownership that didn't work out, Christophe is in charge again and it shows! The food is great, very quickly served, the staff is super friendly and accommodating and the location remains one of a kind! The burgers are gone but pizzas are on the menu so...
